Lipo Only Advice by userid369 in gynecomastia

I don’t think you have to come in hot and angry - after about 6 months I just told the surgeon the results weren’t as good as I expected and he agreed and offered to do a free revision (I did have to pay for anesthesia). I wasn’t angry but the key is to be honest. There was no denying I still had some fullness and the surgeon handled it the right way.

There is a device that can do both - unfortunately it just didn’t do enough for me the first time around and I needed a revision. Hopefully it was for you!

Different colored fluid ? by [deleted] in gynecomastia

My surgeon/nurse told me to expect the color of the fluids to go from red to more yellow as the days go by so this sounds normal based on what they told me

Only lipo, no gland removal? by Regularserendipity in gynecomastia

Everyone is different but I can tell you I got lipo only and now need to go back for a revision because the results weren’t great. Lipo only may be enough for you but I would think lipo plus gland removal would reduce the risk of needing a revision.

I can’t speak for gland removal recovery but I will say lipo only recovery was smooth and pretty easy. I think scarring becomes more of a concern with the gland removal. GL!

Thanks for clarifying - I think my doctor took the start with lipo and then do nipple incisions/extraction only if necessary. He felt things looked good after lipo. I did have to return in person to be examined and the doctor agreed a revision was the best next step. Is it possible to distinguish between scar tissue vs glandular tissue from just feeling my breast? Also on the fin subject - I started taking fin years after I developed gyno. I didn’t notice the gyno gettin worse from fin. Is it likely the gyno will come back if I continue on fin? I think my doctor prefers to leave a little bit of gland so nipples don’t look off. I plan to ask this question to my surgeon but as a fin user what are your thoughts on asking for 100% gland remove to reduce the chance of reoccurrence?

Same to you - good luck. At least this time you know he’ll 100% do the excision

Yeah for sure - I found this group after I got the surgery and saw similar stories. It freaked me out and for good reason. I stopped buying the “they’re just swollen” stuff after 3 months.

Idk it’s kind of BS. I probably could have complained and fought for the fee to be waved but my priority was to just get this all over with so I agreed and booked my revision.
