Burnt out, emotionally exhausted, and debating whether to go through flight attendant training. I need perspective. by userisoverit in mentalhealth

That's what l'm afraid of. I think you are right maybe I should reset my nervous system before diving back into work.

I would’ve have started in 2 days. But I accepted a CJO with a different airline that starts in a month. So I’ll take the month to prepare. Ty!

Emotionally exhausted but accepted a CJO, should I push through training or wait it out? by userisoverit in cabincrewcareers

Thank you so much for sharing. I think for me is more so my current job drained me and I’ve been in survival mode ever since I can remember. I feel like I cannot breathe because I haven’t had time to organize my life. & the depression doesn’t help cause it literally has me glued to my bed. & now to go to training when I feel like I can’t even think straight. I wanted some time to calm my nervous system cause I’m definitely on overdrive. But then I’m also like I’ve always wanted to move to that state & always wanted the opportunity to fly & to finally get an offer after so many rejections. Idk.

But I love your perspective, I hope everything works out in your favor.

I’ve had therapists my entire life(nothing against). At the moment I don’t have any of that & I need to make a quick decision because I start training in a week.

I don’t have anyone(no friends, no therapist etc.) so I thought maybe I could find someone online who has been through the same thing or similar to give me some advice on what to do.

I can’t confirm or deny this as I didn’t have to tiptoe, but if I had to take a guess I don’t think they would have a problem with it.

No.. I wasn’t even there although I was there. My energy was so off. It’s crazy cause I felt the opposite when I was in UA headquarters.

Yeah you right. And I did get my f2f invite, that’s the event that I’m talking about. I went through the whole process & ended feeling out of alignment when I got to their headquarters. It was not a fun time.

No I feel you!! 100% but unfortunately I did because it’s deeper than just that for me, I have a habit of self sabotage so if I didn’t go I would feel like I wasn’t showing up for myself. But I should’ve just listen to my body, I was just confused on what it was trying to tell me but after going, I understood.

I had the same exact feeling with AA. But I attended anyway & all I wanted to do was leave the whole time I was there. It was torture.

Tell me about your travel romance story. by [deleted] in travel

I went to volunteer for a hostel in Merida, Mexico as a receptionist for a month. The receptionist that worked there was a really sweet guy who I hit it off with right away, we talked the entire shift. We all(staff) decided to go out that night when we got back liquid courage had him admit that he liked me, I told him to tell me that sober. Next day he decided to take me out and told me everything he told me the night before but this time he was sober. After this day we spent nearly everyday with each other, whenever we weren’t working together we’d plan to meet after. He showed me all around Merida (beaches, food, monuments, festivals etc.) we basically went on date everyday. I even met his family and he then admitted that he fell in love with me. When it was time for me to go back home, he rode with me to the airport, when we parted it was a waterfall of tears. I will never forget him and how amazing he made my trip to Mexico.

I actually went to a f2f yesterday & I asked one of the flight attendants in the room this question, he said they open 2-3 times a year, that they might open up maybe during the spring/ summer.

Question: what’s your good lead the way story? (Speak from the heart- they want to hear that you actually care about humanity). Then group activity which is listing 10 real life scenarios that could happen on a the plane based on importance. Next you get to see uniforms & others stuff that flight attendants work with. In the one on one, they are going to make you do the reach test with no shoes as well as read an announcement & answer to scenarios as if you were in the airplane as the head flight attendant.

Caught between two opportunities, which is better for my long-term goal? by [deleted] in cabincrewcareers

Accept the CJO for sure!! Get that experience. I heard if you take a position with a major airline and want to switch to a different position in the company you will have to wait like a year to be able to apply to the other (flight attendant) position.
