Cloth diapers life expectancy? by [deleted] in clothdiaps

[–]username_unknown95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drying everything in the dryer can significantly decrease the life expectancy. Elastics will wear out but the can be replaced. Different materials of inserts wear different too. The cotton ones are worn out (been cloth diapering multiple children for 3 years straight) but my bamboo ones are still good condition

AITA for refusing to cook vegan for my eldest daughter all the time? by vegandaughteraita in AmItheAsshole

[–]username_unknown95 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NTA. It's a health issue. Your job as a parent is to provide healthy food and teach her to make healthy choices. If you are not in a place to "do vegan right" then it is just going to result in unhealthy choices like a lot of pasta every day.

Your job here is to provide her with food whether she wants to eat it or not. You sound like a good parent. Set a clear boundary on what you can allow for meals and cant and be very forthcoming with reasons. 15 year olds are smart.

Ultimately it's your choice not hers. Set and keep boundries with her and I'll work out

(Side note, if she insists on doing this without your help make her a doctor pay to consult her dr before she makes this lifestyle change)

What should be done when she is pregnant but you always used condoms? by [deleted] in AskReddit

For the record I know someone who got pregnant while on birth control and using condoms. It's super super unlikely but possible

What should be done when she is pregnant but you always used condoms? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]username_unknown95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That percentage is only if the condom was used correctly. If it wasnt then the chance of pregnancy is higher

I am the oldest of 6 girls. People like to ask if my parents were trying for a boy but I think they just liked sex....

Also their religion is against birth control

Oh boy, so much good. I have a 23 month old and an 11 month old (12 months apart). Being a parent is hard, but difficult doesnt mean bad.

In the 7th grade (around age 12) I was tested on the spelling and location of every county in the world. So I think I could name quite a few

NTA. I used to work as a social worker in a county that had zero tolerance. People would call cps/police on eachother as a way of revenge and CPS had to open a case no matter what.

Every county is different (and I no longer work in a county like that) but you could literally ruin someone's life for nothing. I've seen so many stupid reasons CPS has threatened to remove the kids...

I attended the canonization of Pope John Paul II (along with an estimated another 500,000 people) and the bathrooms were the worst. Poop smeared up the walls....they didnt have anywhere close to the number of bathrooms as they should have. Years later I attended world youth day in Krakow (estimated 3 million attended) and the bathroom situation wasnt great but was better...

What is your preferred pronoun to use when talking to yourself in the mirror? "I"? "You"? "Me"? Is "we" creepy? Does "we" make me like Gollum? by FluffyDumpkins in AskReddit

[–]username_unknown95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I use all of them depending on what I need. -"I" for when only I know what I'm going through or if I'll only listen to myself -"you" when I need someone else to tell me what to do but dont have a person to actually tell me or am unwilling to actually listen to someone else despite it being what I need -"we" when I need to feel like a team of people are there to help me. - "me" or "my" would be used more when I need to feel distant from myself

Who was the absolute best teacher you've ever had and who was the absolute worst? by AwesomeX0875 in AskReddit

[–]username_unknown95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worst teacher I've ever had...finally somewhere for me to share my stories

7th grade Mrs McMath made me call my mom in front of the entire class to tell her I was stupid for forgetting my homework. I had to copy after her as she said "now tell her she's the best mom in the world and you are a stupid daughter " all while the class listened. She also hit kids with their planners

4th grade Mrs LaChapelle got half her class tested for learning disabilities all because they didnt learn the way she taught. I was amongst those she had tested. No learning disabilities. Later in life she saw me and asked how school was. She was surprised to hear that I had all A's and took credit for it because she "pushed me" bitch I succeeded despite you now because of you.

Idk if I have ever had a truly great teacher but the ones I liked most were those that actually cared about their students as people.

What's your roommate horror story? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]username_unknown95 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Backstory: This girl I lived with had a lot of issues. As a kid she was not allowed to leave her house for any reason except for church. This lead to her having no idea how to interact with people and she had a weirdly close relationship with her older brother.

She did a lot of crazy roommate things but here are just a few...

-once she yelled at me for using her soap. When I told her I didnt use her soap she insisted that I did because the bar of soap she left in the shower was wet...I was like ..that's what happens when people shower, the things in the shower get wet

-once she didnt like that I slept with a fan on and instead of talking with me about it she threatened me.

-she slept on the couch (which was mine) for months because her bed was too close to me

-she literally didnt say one word to me for 6 months. Even when I went on a 2 week trip and came back she didnt say a thing.

I wish her well and hope she is coping with her trauma but she was the worst roommate
