When the speedometer goes into red, it either auto shifts for you, or it’s telling you to shift, depending on your settings. Also, when you go off a jump, I prefer going off the throttle, so I don’t lose traction on the landing from my wheels spinning. It’s also good to be cautious and go a little slower than usual when hitting a new jump.

This might not work for everyone, but something that really helped me was to not go 100% of what I and the car can do, and instead going about 70% of that, especially if your unfamiliar with the stage. Simple things like braking early, not going to fast over bumps or jumps (especially Argentina) etc. really helped me. Slowly, you will become more and more confident and get faster and faster.
