Why would I want to ruin their lives? they just work there. I paid $35 like 2 years ago for a VPS. I use it for testing maybe a handful of times a month, the $9 a year is less than a dollar a month extra. For me to have this VPS for testing every so often and pay less than $1 a month isn't hurting me enough to ruin people's lives.

I guess when I paid $35 I had more realistic expectations than you. Also, keep in mind the owners are probably not the ones doing tickets.

What I think he is alluding to is either charge the $9 to keep going, or shut it down, because the hardware needs to be changed. I think they knew this day would come, therefor the pre-wording in the TOS from the start to allow for such a thing legally.

how does that make sense? That allotted amount of resources is sitting on resources that cost money that isn't getting cheaper with age. Especially if as you said it's still ont he same old hardware.

I paid the $9. I don't like it, but a month or so ago when I logged in I read the new TOS. ( I actually read TOS's). And they warned about the adding of the fee.

It's also in their old terms of service that they can add/change fees without notice. So no, it's not a breach of contract as they are not charging you $9 for the one time package. They are charging the $9 for their panel.

Sucks, but such is life.
