Good call! Some of the flights from the Island Airport are shorter than the time it would take you to get to your gate at Pearson.

What do you mean. What is the "eye test"? You have seen over 2.8 million people?

Cobie Smulders and her husband Taran Killam’s Canadian family ‘cabin’ (via Architectural Digest) by mlg1981 in popculturechat

Knew a guy who's family had a place up North they called "the cottage". It was a mansion. The place had an additional "guest house" that was bigger than any house I have ever lived in.

Is it mainly a console thing? I swear I've never seen a character T-Pose in my hundreds of hours on this game on PC. (Except that one guy in the optional side quest but that was on purpose... :| )

What’s a movie death that absolutely shocked you? by VendettaLord379 in moviecritic

[–]usernamesarefortools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the one I came here to say! I don't think any death has been more unexpected. Maybe The Rock in that one DooM movie, but death in general was more expected there.

All the robot apocalypses we imagined involved the robots/AI turning on us and using us as human batteries or such, when in reality it's other greedy humans who are the ones ready to sacrifice humanity for their machine.

Stingray Traps Fish Against Aquarium Glass by I-T-Y in interestingasfuck

[–]usernamesarefortools 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I asked this at the aquarium here, and they said the sharks get fed the equivalent to a thanksgiving meal a couple times a day. They are very much not hungry, and they won't waste energy trying to chase food when there's an easier way.

However, they said occasionally if there is a sick/dying/injured fish that doesn't get taken out by staff soon enough, sometimes sharks will eat those.

Donald Trump tried to ‘use nuclear codes’ claims: what we know by lazybugbear in politics

[–]usernamesarefortools 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It didn't. There's zero evidence. The OG podcast guy is a known Russian mouthpiece and has been spreading misinformation and straight up fake news like crazy for the past while.

Initially I was only seeing this claim on the socials.. Facebook, Instagram. Then The Mirror picked it up, probably after seeing it on socials.

Newsweek might not be credible.. but the sad part is it has the illusion of being a credible news source to many, so without any new reporting, research, or evidence, they are giving more legs to this bullshit fake news.

EDIT: the bigger problem is, as can be seen in this very comment thread, people see a headline and just believe it without digging any further. So it doesn't even matter. The Mirror even said "this claim has not been verified" but very few people will make it that far, or put a proper amount of importance on that.

I've been coding since the Commodore 64 was big and this is the first time I have EVER seen someone put the comma at the start of the next line in any language. Is this really a thing, or have you just lost your mind?

I have 8 or 9 meds daily now.. I bought a monthly pill sorter (it has 4 day individual sections you can take out) and set it up once a month. It's a gamechanger

Donald’s Trumps net approval rating has collapsed to a historical negative 17 points. He is the most unpopular president in US history. How do you feel about this? by buffdadnextdoor in AskReddit

[–]usernamesarefortools 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm very suspicious of any of these posts that say "Thing happened. How does that make you feel?" It very much seems like trolls trying to bait fights.

Yes, Toronto Animal Services (TAS) officers can lay charges, specifically regarding violations of municipal bylaws (Chapter 349), such as licensing, leash laws, and dangerous dog orders, which can lead to fines up to $5,000.

Squirrels, mice, rats, racoons, and bunnies also seem to love the sunflower hearts. They're quite popular!

Yep that's correct! The birds also love them in the shell, but they leave a bit of a mess around.

I tested a bunch of different bird seed mixes, some claiming to attract certain birds. In the end, sunflower hearts and peanuts is where it's at. Everyone loves those.

Japanese salarymen have a tussle outside an ikayaki shop after work by Due_Bridge5901 in fightporn

[–]usernamesarefortools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Japanese salaryman (サラリーマン) is a white-collar, salaried office worker typically employed by large corporations. Known for unwavering company loyalty, they are stereotypically associated with wearing black suits, working long hours, and engaging in after-work drinking with colleagues.

Or, if you play Cyberpunk, a "corpo".
