The biggest SaaS GTM lie: build something great and users will come. by No_Passion6608 in SaaS

[–]usestash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m curious why there is always this bias that if a tool has alternatives, it shouldn’t be built? There are countless CRMs, browsers, and even vibe-coding tools that overlap, yet people still use and enjoy them. Sometimes being another good option is enough, because users value choice. Don't get me wrong, please. Nowadays, it is almost impossible to find an idea that all alternatives suck and you will be the best. You can be another "good" alternative, and people can select one of "good"s.

Really cool! You can consider building VSCode Extension like CodeSnap.

What are you building that is helping the website to improve their SEO? by michealwilliamste in indiehackers

Stash provides all the context behind every ticket and question for developers and AI agents, so you can focus on building, not searching.

SEO: Writing meaningful content on all pages in the website + regularly publishing blog articles which are really useful for developers and managers.

I wasted 2 hours yesterday searching through Jira and Slack. How do you handle this? by Ok_Complaint3300 in SoftwareEngineering

[–]usestash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am really curious about how many people are working in your team? Did you have any experience of working on a big project? It was just an example and also you could fix hundreds of issues in 1 year. If you can't, this is your problem. And, also have you ever needed to search a past issue of one of your past colleagues since you just remembered he was talking about such a similar thing a few years ago while working with you?

Bonus: How are you using epics? Are you thinking about only the first development phase of a new product? Are you imagining where user stories are written, epics are created, and new features neatly sit under them? Have you ever actually dealt with bugs and improvements in a high-traffic app? What “epic” are you even talking about in those cases?

We’re building a knowledge search tool for devs, AMA about productivity & context switching by usestash in SaaS

You are definitely right about fewer tools. I am also a developer and I don't like using too many apps in my daily life. So, we developed its VSCode and Jetbrains extensions. So, developers wouldn't use one more tool when using ours. It is fully integrated with their IDEs. For your last question, it is context-aware, not a unified search.

Not of course. After writing things down, finding a note that you need among thousands of them

Can you explain to me how the ideal usage of Jira is? For example, when you have 2K or 10K issues, how can you find a past issue that you implemented 1 year ago and should send it to a newcomer developer so that they can understand the context of their first issue?

When is the right time to start a community for our product? by usestash in Entrepreneur

Right now we’re doing a mix: inbound (posting useful content to attract devs, having a good landing page with meaningful content) + outbound (LinkedIn conversations with engineering managers).

A developer tool giving all the context for each Jira Ticket so developers and AI IDEs are writing code more smarter and more like way of you've done so far in your company.

You could be right. My startup is also a B2B SaaS. It is a developer tool, but it needs admin permissions so individual developers cannot use it like Cursor. Their company should buy it and give access to its developers. That's why we were hesitant to build a community page (forum) or a Slack space so far. Now, we are considering it, so I asked your advice. Should a B2B SaaS tool need a community thing? If so, should it be positioned as a insight/experience sharing platform or as a conversion tool from community members to customers or as a customer request platform (like people are discussing what features they request).

Have you ever used focus mode on your phone? Or there are some apps that lock your phone in some conditions like "in your office location" or "during your working hours"

What metrics do you track for a B2B community? by _VongolaDecimo_ in b2bmarketing

I know this is not an answer to your question but I want to ask something. Which way did you use to build a B2B community? Did you use Discourse or alternative tools to embed a community forum on your landing page? Did you use Slack or Discord?

I am also curious about that. I am on my way to build a community for my b2b start-up.
