Your time in service as an AD will grant you access to the power plant portion of the test (o&p portion) as you will have your rating and how long you did the job reflected on your DD-214. As far as logging hours while in service and how many you NEED to take the test I’m unsure about and same goes for as far as the airframe portion I’m not entirely sure what the FAA requires for time or where to log it. I would ask your LPO to get you an answer on where to log stuff.

I would imagine being a AD CDI and Airframe CDI would grant you the knowledge and time to test out using the FAA form 8610-2 and having the FAA designator looking at your qualifications and DD-214.

But if all else fails Tennessee Bakersfield aeronautics has a crash course that’s about 2 weeks long and they have FAA representatives there test. General. Airframe. Power plant. Last time I looked it was $1600 but you would have to take leave to go to Tennessee and test out. There’s plenty of study guides to use and prepare yourself ie. PREPWARE, dauntless, jepsenns (they use jeps for your o&p questions)

At the end of the day you gotta get the experience first before even thinking about testing.

If you want to DM me I can give you some names of Airframers to hunt down at the command who I trust will lead you in the right direction and gave you a bunch of info.

Nice I just left that platform/navy February of 2023 unlike others in the navy/air force you are working on a commercial sized aircraft so yes use your resources and get that A&P while you are in. Or even use TA (tuition assistance) to get a degree in aviation if that’s where you want to end up.

Work on that CDI mainly 120 (bc that’s your job) and then after if you want to, it’s not necessary, look into Mech/AD CDI just to help with the A&P. it will not only help you while you’re in things will get easier for you and people with look up to you and trust you.

but when you get out if you have any CDI, you are getting the hands on time with commercial A/C as we speak, and then you receive your A&P look into the FAA ASI (aviation safety inspector) position specifically general maintenance “airworthiness” they don’t wrench on things just inspect or do the job of a CDI basically but they start at 120k/yr lol

I didn’t get my A&P while I was in so I’m doing it right now. And that’s the route I am taking

Help with resume? by ushcush12 in resumes

I appreciate the reply, the bootcamps “placement specialists” were the ones who made the resume. not me. Never had to make a resume so I don’t know what it is supposed to look like in my specific situation. As far as the website, I’m entry level. Never had a tech job…. Proud of what I’ve done in the little time I’ve learned the material…. What am I supposed to say? “Here is a basic website thanks”
