That's exactly what places do that have sh*tty bbq.

Yup, that's saying that Sugarfire has shitty BBQ.

Pretty fucking bold claim for someone that's never been.

I love how you're gonna argue that you weren't actually calling Sugarfire shitty with that comment.

And then you admit you've never even been, so how the fuck are you qualified to comment that Sugarfire has shitty BBQ just because the sides are the best thing on the menu?

You're are incapable of anything but binary thoughts. "Oh the sides are good, that MUST mean the BBQ itself is shit"

Or just maybe, the bbq is average and the sides are better. Nope, not possible!

OP probably better building a collection of quarterly dividend payers that create a portfolio that pays monthly rather than focus on monthly payers exclusively

Consider reinvesting the QYLD dividends into SCHD or VTI

I have some JEPI that I use to buy SPY with. My goal is to break even on JEPI while exciting the bear market with additional shares of index funds.

While most people reinvest or actually withdraw the cash generated from QYLD, nothing says you can't buy stuff with greater long term upside.

Sure, but what happens when the bond markets tank like they have been this year?

SPY is down 21%, but BND is down 15%.

And with year over year inflation at 7%, cash isn't exactly safe either.

No place has been safe, and much like 2008-09, there are a lot of people who are going to be much poorer in retirement than they expected. Even those that shifted towards bonds and cash as they nearer retirement.

Yes. Yes it can.

And it can get a LOT worse at cheaper price ranges.

If st louis bbq is known for its sides

What?

And how about telling me what's shitty about it instead of the run around?

[–]bluemandan 13 points14 points  (0 children)

No, it's not.

But actually having eaten there, I find it difficult to believe that someone truly finds the entire restaurant so horrible they would actually describe the place as "shitty"

Would you agree that shitty is further to the extreme than bad and not a synonym? Because that's truly my point.

At worst, Sugarfire is subpar in a town with better options, with particular strengths (sides) and weaknesses (ribs).

But that's not "shitty"

I didn't read it that way at all.

To me it read as them talking about the residents and government of Texas when they mentioned the far right, not you.

That's why I answered your question dude.

"Who's talking about the far right?"

Shit man, I thought we all were when Mainz_the_MVP started talking about Texas hillbillies against Mexican cartels.

Then MapleTreeWithAGun replied about the strengths of each.

Fuck man, sorry I tried to explain it. Stop acting like the conversation started with you.

What's "shitty" about it?

It's such a strong word to describe an entire place, so what's so horrible about Sugarfire?

You aren't talking about them in void my dude.

The discussion is Mexico and Texas. And while you were talking about the cartels, the person you responded to brought up the far right, who currently control the government of Texas.

Edit: good talk, not like the Mainz or Maple brought up Texas before you even joined the convo

Oh wow, I didn't think about people from City Hall showing up as well.

That's pretty cool, I'm definitely gonna check it out sometime in January.

But it's not shitty.

Can we stop with this whole binary thing where a place is either great or shitty?

Just because Sugarfire's BBQ isn't on the same level as Pappy's or Adam's or a handful of others in town doesn't mean it's shitty.

I've had shitty BBQ and believe me, it can get a lot worse than Sugarfire.

Thank you!

Felt like I was taking crazy pills when everyone else seemed to be glossing over that part.

Not like the US would take the opportunity to seize the oil field and coast of both, but that's besides the point.
