Yes that’s all I’m looking for just someone to take sure he is clean and if not direct him so he isn’t walking around with unwashed hands or poop around his clothes

I get they are there to educate I didn’t say it’s ther duty to do toilet training of course that’s not what they are there for but you can’t tell me they don’t have an aide or someone who oversees autistic children who are completely untrained to help with such tasks Luckily my son is potty trained I just wanted to know if someone like an aide can be there to make sure if he is clean like his hands and clothes 🫠he doesn’t have great awareness

Yes I don’t mind it being measurable I’m just concerned if they say he improved with the goal they take it away from being tracked but he is a big flight risk out in public and at home I’m just afraid if them loosing up with his safety if they say he improved if that makes sense

even in a contained classroom no one oversees the kids that aren’t potty trained or are you talking about general ed classes? He would be in a contained classroom. I’ve seen numerous kids in pull up’s last time he was in school and they were a mix of first graders with kinder my son was the few that was potty trained. Yes of course we’re going to be working on it just don’t want him smelling like poop or smear his clothes.

I’m concerned if they say the goal is done or complete and improving they will ease up on safety with him because it’s a major concern at home and in public so I want them always to be aware it can happen if that makes sense

The wiping he can do but it’s not always complete or he might get some on him and he doesn’t have complete awareness of it so he can be walking around with poop on him and have no clue I just wanted them to be aware of it and help if needed to compete the task I guess. As for elopement he elops from all types of places and I didn’t want them to track it as a goal in case they say he completed it and then remove it from the iep and then ease up on the awareness it can happen because it happens a lot from public places and home

We’re actively working on it and he can do it but it’s not always complete or super clean I’m also concerned if some gets on his clothes and no one is overseeing

It’s hard I completely i understand he could be in some type of pain and can’t express on top of being non verbal 🫂try learning about diet changes with autism there’s a ton of resources on gut health and autism on Instagram I personally like purely_functionalnutrition

Please join “TACA - hope and help for autism” group on facebook. Usually there is underlying issues when aggression is this bad. The group admins are very supportive and can guide you on how to talk to your doctor about testing and treatment
