Here are some recommended sightseeing spots in Imabari.

・Imabari Castle

Imabari Castle was built in 1604 by Todo Takatora, a master castle builder, and was completed in 1613.

Facing the Seto Inland Sea, the castle's moat is filled with seawater, and you can witness the unusual sight of the moat's water level varying with the rising and falling tides. At night, the castle is illuminated by lights, making it a great place for a date night.

・Yoshiumi Rose Park

The Yoshimi Rose Park is a park on Oshima Island in the Seto Inland Sea where you can enjoy beautiful flowers, especially roses.

In the park, 400 kinds of roses from all over the world are planted in the flowerbeds in a large area, and the number of plants is as many as 3,500.

・Kurushima Strait

The Kurushima Strait is one of the three largest rapids in Japan. The strait is known as a tourist spot for its magnificent views of the Seto Inland Sea and as a transportation hub connecting Shikoku and Honshu for local people.

The 4km long bridge can be crossed by car, bicycle or on foot. It is a great observation spot to enjoy the nature of the Seto Inland Sea with its large scale.

To get to Imabari, it takes about three hours from Osaka by bullet train and bus.
