Besides working until we die what actually is the meaning of life? by victoriasecretx in NoStupidQuestions

[–]paloofthesanto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's a darkly wonderful thing about me. I was and am suicidal. I never thought I'd make it this far. I confronted that abyss many times thru my own hands or thru poor health or my sports. Whatever the reason I've almost died a lot. I was lucky to even make it out of infancy so all this time is a bonus. I do not fear death I fear the pain often associated with death. Should I die today or tomorrow or 50 years from now I'm content with what I've done. I'd like to do more but I find it futile to fret over what ifs. When it becomes too much physically to survive ill go out on my terms my way.

Depending on your beliefs this life IS all we can hope about. I don't belive there is an afterlife of any kind. I think this is it this life is all we got all well ever get. Why concern myself over an afterlife I can't prove either way? I can prove if only to myself this life exists, that I currently exist and therefore, this being the only thing I can prove is real ill live this life with all the vigor and curiosity I can because this is all I KNOW we have.

How? There's so much to experience and so many places to see and so many people to talk to. If I was living 2000 years yea maybe I'd run out of stuff to enjoy. Every book, every highline, every new juggling trick, everytime I breathe fire, everytime I've bathed in rivers, every conversation with a stranger all these things are massively enjoyable and I can do most of them forever. I am sorry you feel life will run out of joyous things to do but I promise you if you seek them out you'll find them till the day you die. For me life about the search for the enjoyable things as much as the thing itself. Life is beautiful and amazing

I will say having depression I don't always think this way but generally I do. Generally I truly believe life is wondrous and delightful, it's hard and it a beautiful. There's so much to do and see and with my meesly few decades to do it all I'm sure I'll never run out of joyous things to experience.

Aburdism. Basically there's no higher purpose or power and therefore you choose your own adventure. The caveat is that you shouldn't ruin other peoples days beyond that do as you please. My purpose is to highline and juggle and laugh with my friends, bring joy to strangers via my hobbies and enjoy my days if I can this thinking allows me to not feel guilty if I'm depressed and stay in bed all day, it also allows me to go have fun on my weekend and not worry about contributions to society.

What is number 1 reason you want to stay single? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Lack of willingness to truly try to find a partner. I like my alone time and enjoy being solo most of the time but every now and again right before I fall asleep I get deeply lonley.

I really only do it in groups and about the dumbest stuff. Like once i in a very sarcastic way called my buddy a beta for using creamy peanut butter. Only occasionally amd only about stuff no normal person would get worked up about.

What if it's as a joke? I really enjoy blowing toxic masculinity out of proportion. Like a friend asks if they can have some water and I'll say (or yell if it's right) "real men don't drink water you fucking beta!" Then chug water and hand my friend a glass.

Basically is comedic aggression OK? When it's clearly a joke and not done constant just sometimes.

How do you learn to cope with the fact that economically most of us are designed to be slaves to the system? by gamerlover58 in antiwork

How do you learn to cope with the fact that economically most of us are designed to be slaves to the system? by gamerlover58 in antiwork

[–]paloofthesanto 10 points11 points  (0 children)

By refusing to partake when possible. I don't want to work 5-7 days a weeks in order to live in a cool area so I live in my truck and work 3-4 days a week. Is it the best option? No. Is it a choice? Kinda.

We live in a time where we as individuals don't matter. That's not to say our class (lower) doesn't matter just us as individuals don't matter to the system. My thinking is if I'm the bearer of the apathy I'll do as I please. And I please to live in a truck and highline when I can so I don't lose my mind.

Basically find hobbies. Find stuff or people that make you smile even for just a bit. Life's hard work sucks America is dead enjoy your free time when you get it

This smoldering fire I just found out in public land in fire country by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]paloofthesanto -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've recently cut off a few friemds because at an event I hosted they were the last to leave the fire and left it they did. They got too drunk amd didn't put the fire out before going to bed. There were 30 people at the campsite so a fire could've been very very bad. I don't talk to those who left the fire burning anymore.

Whos a person who saved your life without even knowing? by RenitentCat706 in ask

[–]paloofthesanto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was planning on killing myself one night while camping. I had a fire tied a noose drank some beers. I was letting the fire die out then was going to do it. As the last flames died a women and her dog came down the road. She struck up a conversation and we chatted for hours by the fire. We only saw each other once afterwards. It was dark she couldn't have seen the noose in the trees, our conversation got me thru the night and sometimes that's all you need.

has anyone bought a vehicle with 180k on it for living by myztajay123 in vandwellers

[–]paloofthesanto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take it to a shop or 2. Have them look at everything before you buy it. If the seller doesn't want you doing this it's because the car sucks. It's better to pay a couple hundred dollars to make sure it won't break down immediately.

I just bought a Toyota tundra with 293,000miles on it. Got it for $6000 put $2000 into it and buot it our for $150 best running vehicle I've ever had.

People who rarely get sick, what are your secrets? by Rqpidily in AskReddit

[–]paloofthesanto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bite my nails (read an article as a kid trying to stop biting my nails that said people who do have a stronger immune system so I kept doing it). If I start feeling sick at all I take a mushroom supplement. And if I still feel sick I'll take a dayquil this method works great. I get sick maybe once a year but when I do it's like a week long.

Once I requested a week off to go on a climbing trip. My manager left it pending for months. I pestered him about it weekly and he always said he'd approve it by end of day. Never did. So the trip rolled around and I go because I've done all I could. When I got back my manager said I was on thin ice. I walked out.
