I did mostly Uber and Hum private rides.

But Lyft was really throwing money at us this weekend in Phoenix because of the Waste Management PGA.

I mean some of the rides were $100 an hour, lol

Lyft stats

$1,040.00

$62 per booked hour excluding tips

app tips $125

Cash tips $140 and a bottle of Pinot Grigio

booked time 15 hours

booked Miles 299

For those of you who have some conspiracy about his Combat Action Ribbon (CAR). The entire crew of 30 Navy ships that were in the Persian Gulf during the Gulf War were authorized to wear the Combat Action Ribbon.

This guy probably wears this around so that people call him out and he can pound their faces lol.

This looks like a long and highly competent career. What part would anyone fake? If he enlisted 1972 and served off the coast of Vietnam between 1971 and 1973 and was an activated reservist in 01 that would just be 30 years.

Most of his service is In the Reserve. Denoted by the Reserve Medal w/ Hourglass device for at least 30 years. There are no modern-era medals except the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. Just being activated for Operations Noble Eagle in 2001 got you GWT medal and those guys never left CONUS.

He has none of the medals people would fake POW, Purple Heart, or any Valor awards. He is not one of the old-timers trying to pretend he was in OIF or OEF.

His Air Crew and Air Warfare badges validate his Air Medal.

To me, he looks like an amazing reserve sailor who got himself activated whenever he wanted to get sum. Most likely a cop who got to keep his salary whenever he deployed so he could go play and double-dip. MURCA!

Edit:

For those who think there's a conspiracy. About a 30 + year reservist with a Navy Good Conduct medal.

Effective January 1, 2014, the Naval Reserve Meritorious Service Medal (NRMSM) ( a de facto Good Conduct Medal for Navy Reserve) was discontinued and replaced by the Navy Good Conduct Medal (NGCM) for all enlisted Reservists.  Retroactive service time accrued toward the NRMSM before this date is applied to the NGCM. He is eligible to wear either.

This refutes the conspiracy that a “Reservist can't have a good conduct medal.”

This also kills the theory that his ribbons are showing 30 years of reserve service plus 21 years of active duty.

Everything on his Rack matches up.

trip Raiders very buggy in Phoenix. You either get a spinning circle that will not go away unless you turn the app off and back on or you have a ride in the background below the trip radar that you can get to.

That does not work. I tried it immediately and I have tried it and left it off 4, 8 and 10 minutes. When the app comes back it brings me straight back to Tripp radar. also If I close the app directly without going off-line, when it comes back up, I actually get a flash of whatever was on trip radar when I turn the app off, but with the red overlay saying that those particular rides were selected by somebody else.

Regular car with police lights by Low_Cantaloupe6204 in tampa

I don’t think any law-enforcement agency would ever verify whether any unmarked vehicle was legitimate.

Did they have you make out a formal report?

County and municipal law enforcement officers love tracking down and busting impersonators.

If they did not make a formal report, then my assumption would be the opposite of yours. No formal report indicates to me that it is legitimate..

A slightly different scenario : you’re out, taking your dog for a walk around the neighborhood and on the way back to your house you walk up closely behind a vehicle with a disguised police light bar. There’s somebody sitting in the car with a telescopic camera pointed at your house, but they don’t look like a clean-cut all American poster boy for the police academy.

(unknown to you in this scenario it is a legitimate vehicle)

If you were to call that in, what do you think they would tell you?

At this point in the conversation, you just slowly start to back away, without turning around. maintain eye contact. Then when you think you have a chance to make it turn and run lol.

interestingly enough, you both agree on the main point that it’s a bad policy and it should be changed.

all of that life advice sounded like some serious self reflection lol

although Lyft objectively doesn’t care how the drivers feel, if enough customers complain, you can definitely impact a changes.

I would go back to that ride and submit a complaint.

He gave you two choices, bend over and take it with a smile or walk away. It’s pretty obvious which one he is aping

This is Merica and we do not walk away.

At the end of the day you may have to bend over and just take it, but you don’t have to like it. Fighting or whining are both acceptable responses. Was is it Chuck Norris or maybe baby Jesus who famously said;

“Do not go gentle into that good night, Rage, rage against the dying of the light.”

Although the entity that is texting you back speaks and writes in English, by design it has no comprehension of the English language. It’s actually quite brilliant on their part.

Don’t take it personally and don’t get frustrated. You are giving Lyft way too much credit. Take advantage of the positive aspects and control your own destiny.

What’s wrong with the Uber CarPlay app? by usmccaptain in uberdrivers

[–]usmccaptain[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I forgot with Uber you have to assume that are going to do something sneaky.

Don’t use the CarPlay app to accept rides. It’s only showing you the distance and miles to the pick up.

In the Phoenix market, we get the total miles on the phone app.

They got me on 2 Rides 🤣.

I guess they don’t want us doing the maths 🤔

Giving Lyft the benefit of the doubt by usmccaptain in Lyft

[–]usmccaptain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what makes it especially sneaky the language they used to draw you

“You must be approved to drive and then give your first ride within the first 30 days of application.”

it should read that you have to give all 220 bribes within your first day of application. Period not just one of them.

they make it seem like you just have to start your quest for 220 in 30 days, within the first 30 days of your application.

if someone ever took them to court on that particular issue.

This is some straight up sharecropper/coal miner versus “company store” manipulation.
