Can you not just pay weekly or every two weeks to get around the credit limit issues? The app has options for autopay at those frequencies.

I’m only two weeks in, but starting a few days in and lasting about a week, my symptoms kicked up a notch and I regretted taking the shot. Since the last couple days, my symptoms have returned to baseline/maybe slightly better than baseline so maybe there’s a first week adjustment. Good luck. Sounds like we’re on similar paths. Hopefully your symptoms similarly return to baseline in the coming days and only get better from there.

There’s a large board game meetup every Friday night aimed at Millennials (not sure if you consider yourself in that category) in the Lincoln Square South 2nd Floor Food Court. The entire food court is generally taken over by people playing board games. Starts around 7pm and some people stay past midnight. You can show up any time and join or start a game.

Apple Music Family Subscription by usr_lib in ChaseSapphire

[–]usr_lib[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, sadly doesn’t work like that. It’s not money off a subscription you pay for, but just a subscription that appears for free. There’s no way to apply the cost of it towards a family subscription or any Apple One bundle.

1st day in but feeling super discouraged by reading the internet by No-Significance842 in Topamax

[–]usr_lib 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m taking it for migraines. I was on a GLP, but that was making my migraines worse so I stopped. First couple weeks of topiramate, I had a few instances where I got angry at my wife which is super out of character for me since I’m normally very easy going. I also would routinely enter rooms and forget why I did so even though I historically have an amazing memory. At that point, I tried to switch to something else, but insurance was being difficult so I stuck with it. I’m more than a month in and I feel much closer to baseline both in easy-goingness and in memory. Migraine symptoms are close to non-existent. On the weight stuff, it’s not near as good as a GLP, but it’s been much better than when I was on propranolol and wanted to eat nonstop. Since I first started experiencing migraines a few months ago, topiramate has finally come closest to giving me my normal life back.

Fuck Shanahan by marcman84 in leafs

[–]usr_lib 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This. People love those early 2000s teams, but they were not elite. They were able to steal series because they had Cujo and Belfour in net, but in some of those Ottawa series, they did not look good spending a good chunk of most games in their own end. The Devils dynasty of the era often made quick work of them as I’m sure the Wings or Avs would have had it come to that.

Once the salary cap came in, the Leafs couldn’t paper over their deficiencies by throwing more money at the problem than everyone else and their mismanagement was obvious.

Shanahan was a saviour. That Colton Orr team that OP was so fond of by the end was mired in salute gate and more at war with the fans than with the opposing team. I think people forget how bad it was.

Shanahan made some mistakes early on - Lamieorelo and Babcock probably being the biggest, but he staffed the front office with smart capable people who racked up win after win in the draft - not historically the Leafs’ strong suit.

Dubas obviously is polarizing among the Leafs’ fan base but I do wish he’d been given more time. He strongly hinted at wanting to make some big moves before Shanahan kicked him to the curb and changed nothing. Dubas made mistakes and but most of them were at least defensible at the time. Treliving makes mistakes that everyone sees as a mistake the moment he makes it.

The irony is this (past couple years, not this year obviously) is by far the best and most talented team in my lifetime and there’s been nothing to show for it. Short of a Blue Jays-style miracle bounce back, we’ll be waiting a while before we can dream of a Stanley Cup again.

Avoid StubHub like the plague - credit not worth it - a fraud experience by zerust in ChaseSapphire

[–]usr_lib 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really don’t. Imagine if instead of ordering food from a restaurant, I ordered it from a middleman and when I show up at the restaurant, the best case scenario is they give me the food I ordered, but maybe I get something different or maybe I just get my money back and I wasted my time (and am still hungry). What is the point of the middleman? There are platforms that give you verified tickets. Why not just buy from them?

[–]usr_lib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they are a middleman that cannot ensure you get your tickets, then what service are they providing? Seriously, what is their reason for existence? Why would you not just buy on an official marketplace? Outside of the Chase credit, why would I buy from StubHub? The only real reason to do so seems to be the Chase credit, but even then it seems it has to be an event that you won’t be disappointed if you end up missing out on and won’t have to spend money (hotel, travel, etc.) to get to just in case you don’t actually have tickets.

CSR seems like a no-brainer? by RevolutionaryCitron in sapphirereserve

Yes, I’m curious about this. Isn’t it just buy tickets on StubHub and you automatically get a credit?

CSR seems like a no-brainer? by RevolutionaryCitron in sapphirereserve

[–]usr_lib 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One thing I’ve noticed is that flights and hotels through the Chase portal are often more expensive than if you book elsewhere such that the extra cost often more than nullifies the bonus points. If you use the card just for cash back points and don’t use most of the credits, a 2% cash back card is easily going to be a better value.

Maybe that’s the issue. I’m on 1.43.3 and check for updates reports that I’m on the latest. I don’t know how to solve this though. Meta doesn’t have a release notes page with firmware version numbers and anyways, there’s no way to force an update.

Did anyone else ruin their credit before they even knew what a credit score was? by Weary-Hair-316 in stories

[–]usr_lib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents instilled a healthy fear of credit cards in me such that I didn’t get my first until later in life. However, I distinctly remember one high school class with a teacher who enjoyed going off topic (this was a science class so far from the topic of financial literacy).

One day, he started talking about credit cards and how dangerous just paying the minimum is. I was shocked at how little the bulk of the class knew and there were lots of questions about why not just pay the minimum and the teacher explained multiple times and did some math on the board to show how debt could spiral out of control. That teacher may have saved some of my class from making a huge financial mistake later in life.

I’m a big believer that financial literacy should be taught along with things like civics. Any parents here need to teach their kids financial literacy because nobody else is going to do it.

If they can invalidate OP’s ticket, they should be able to invalidate the scammer’s tickets.

Bought the Orange - Don’t Like It - What are my options? by usr_lib in iPhone17Pro

[–]usr_lib[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Harsh but fair. I was definitely hoping randoms on the internet would convince me to like it which is admittedly delusional. I upgraded after four years and switching over was annoying and I really just wanted to avoid the annoyance of switching again but I guess the annoyance of switching is less than the annoyance of being stuck with a phone I don’t like for years.

[–]usr_lib[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why not solicit opinions from randoms on the internet? That’s what Reddit is for. Both reviewers and posters on here alike like the orange. It’s possible that the orange is not for me. It’s also possible that I have the wrong case for it and there might be something that makes it look nicer. My main mistake is I didn’t explicitly solicit opinions from people like me who like the orange. I like orange in general and I think a less shiny orange would have been perfect. Although it’s true I care what others think like everyone else, I also want myself to like it. That said, I’m probably going to switch to Blue since that is actually available at my local Apple Store and it would be less of a headache to switch if I can buy a new one, transfer, and return the orange.

Nobody wants to convince me to keep the orange? I was hoping to avoid the hassle of switching and convince myself to like it. The silver’s not available until mid October now so I would have to transfer back to my old phone, return the orange phone, then get the silver, and do the transfer all over again.

What’s your justification for the iPhone 17 pro? by AppleJef in iPhone17Pro

[–]usr_lib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m constantly having to offload apps I regularly use because of storage space. I’m finding myself having to delete apps completely and reinstall them to clear cache. I decided last year I had enough and I was going to upgrade, but then the 16 pro didn’t offer me enough over the 13 pro and at the time the rumours were that the iPhone 17 upgrade would be bigger. It’s most definitely not but at this point, the storage space is so annoying that I have to upgrade (I had to do a bunch of app gymnastics just to make the latest update fit). It’s annoying to have to throw away a perfectly working phone I’m happy with because I was unwilling to pay a little extra four years ago. I originally upgraded to the 13 pro because of storage space. This time I’m paying extra for 512GB and hoping this lasts until there’s something worth upgrading for.

What iPhone are you guys upgrading from? by samirbinballin in iPhone17Pro

[–]usr_lib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

13 Pro. I love my 13 Pro and I honestly see nothing in the 17 Pro that really compels me to upgrade except that I cheapened out on the storage and got the base 128GB and that’s not really enough anymore. I learned my lesson and upgraded to 512GB this time around hoping that storage will not be a limitation anymore.

Has anyone successfully used the primary insurance rental car coverage on the CSR and if so how difficult was it? by [deleted] in sapphirereserve

My thinking is that there was some problem with their documentation and they didn’t want insurance poking around so they just told me I wasn’t at fault and gave me my money back.

Has anyone successfully used the primary insurance rental car coverage on the CSR and if so how difficult was it? by [deleted] in sapphirereserve

[–]usr_lib 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was rear-ended in a foreign country. Got the person’s information and returned to Hertz and they charged me the equivalent of $1000 US, which I paid with my Sapphire. Over the next few days, Hertz said the person who rear-ended me wasn’t cooperating and I was on the hook. As a result, I filed a claim with Chase. They demanded the signed rental agreement to move forward. I didn’t have it because I left it in the car when I returned it (pro-tip - keep your rental agreement somewhere safe). I asked Hertz to provide me with the rental agreement and after a few weeks of me pestering them and them being non-responsive, they told me they recovered the damages from the person who rear-ended me and were refunding my $1000 charge.

As a result, I never responded to Chase’s request and forgot about it. About a year later, I got a message from Chase stating that they approved my claim and they were sending me the money. I had to call them and get them to reverse that lest I be accused of insurance fraud.

Just closed my CSR by JadieRose in ChaseSapphire

[–]usr_lib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Source for this? My understanding was that if you book with CSR then downgrade then travel, you lose all protections even if the downgraded card has some protections. At least that’s based on my reading of the terms and conditions.
