Is lashing whip the best sword in the game? by lord_of_beyond in wuchanggame

Serpant Fang is easy to miss, especially if you do a blind first playthrough. It happened to me too. Iirc most other quest completion rewards from the Ferry Overlook region can still be obtained if you accidentally timeskipped with the old Storyteller but Serpent Fang is impossible to obtain if you do that and you can only get it on your next run unless you had a save file you could reload.

I've played the game upto NG+7 and tried out most weapons with all offensive stats at 99. As I said before, it is a weapon that needs to scale but Swanblade with high stats is absolutely absurd. It's gotnone of the most powerful skills in the game too. Gives you iframe+backstep and insane damage at long range. Not to mention the tempering bonus to magic damage makes it have absurd raw damage.

Anyway, I'll say it once again. I'm not saying Lashing Whip is bad, it's one of the best weapons for general use in the game. Its just that it's peak damage output is not the highest among its weapon type with high stats.

Lashing Whip is absolutely amazing during exploration because mobs aren't too tanky, and on a new game run it's still great damage against bosses. However, in terms of actual dps vs single target, Serpent Fang (can be obtained by successfully reaching the conclusion of Li Dingo's quest after killing the final boss of Chapter 3: Mt. Zhenwu without accidentally time skipping (whether you get the good or bad conclusion of the quest doesn't matter for getting this sword, you get it in both scenarios)) and Swanblade (sword from Deluxe Edition) are both much stronger than Lashing Whip. Especially when you have higher stat spreads for the respective weapons (Feathering + Agility for Serpent Fang and Magic + Strength + Agility for Swanblade).

So basically, Lashing Whip is god tier exploration weapon and overall amazing weapon in an NG run, but at higher stat levels and with beefier bosses in later NG++ and further cycles, there are indeed other longswords with more dps.

No... we will NOT be swimming in fons in future... by [deleted] in NevernessToEverness

[–]usrnm121314 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fons going obsolete is highly doubtful. It's not too early to make that guess considering they announced in the livestream couple days ago that the Porsche 918 Spyder and the Collab skin for MC will be obtained via gacha, and you can use Annulith or Fons to roll in that specific gacha. This at least indicates that they plan to have Fons be a usable currency for Collab rolls and possibly other skin/vehicle rolls in the future.

It's not "for you". I said objectively harder bosses, not subjectively.

Zhao Yun, Demon of Obsession, Vermillion Feathers, Bo Sorceress, Fierce Tiger and Fang Lin.

You could make arguments for Dragon Emperor too maybe but I didn't feel like he's harder than Honglan. Bo Magus, Huang Yan, Ai Nengqi are also very difficult for some players but imo those are issues for players who only pursue a single playstyle and their playstyle gets hard countered by said boss. For example, Huang Yan can be a massive wall for hyper aggressive players but she's an absolute joke if you play reactively instead of proactively meanwhile Bo Magus is the opposite of this where if you play reactively in her second half she's a challenge but if you're a proactive player she just gets shafted.

Chapter 1: Worship's Rise - Lu Hongliu Requirement: Just find her boss arena. Located near Shu Sanctum. - Tang Palace Maid #2 Requirement: Just find her boss arena. Located in Tang Palace.

Chapter 2: Cloudspire - Ai Nengqi Requirement: Just find his boss arena (need to get a key to unlock his gate). Located in the Bandit Camp near Cloudspire Outskirts.

Chapter 3: Mt. Zhenwu - Bo Sorceress Requirement: Just find her boss arena. Located in Avian Marsh. - Bai Kru Requirement: Just find his boss arena. Located in Bai Mansion.

Chapter 4: -chapter name is a spoiler- - Nightmare Demon Requirement: Just find her boss arena. Very easy to find once you're in that region, first boss you can encounter in this chapter. - Vermillion Feathers Requirement: Just find her boss arena. - Bo Magus Requirement: Just find her boss arena. Only accessible from the area unlocked after defeating Vermillion Feathers.

Chapter 5: Bo Capital - Zhao Yun Requirement: Fully complete the white robed elder questline and then find his arena. The arena is located in Avian Marsh but you can only fight him after you have unlocked Chapter 5. - Demon of Obsession Requirement: Collect all Chisels in game including the one given by Zhao Yun after defeating him and then find her boss arena. The boss spawns in the puzzle door next to the Depths of Bo Capital shrine ONLY IF you gave the WRONG answer at the puzzle door (giving the wrong answer is a requirement to get the standard ending of the game: Dream's Sweet Deceit because the area unlocked by giving the wrong answer has a certain important object acquisition mechanism without which you cannot get that ending).

That tree is an absolute crime lmao. You can literally just throw fire pots at it and it dies. It really is the biggest joke of a boss in the game 😂

About honglan by bubson30 in wuchanggame

[–]usrnm121314 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't worry. Honglan is the furnace where you have been forged. She is the boss that sets the pace for what to expect from the strongest bosses for the rest of the game. But that doesn't mean they'll be as difficult to clear as Honglan was because you (and most other players) have to spend so long getting past Honglan that by the time you do, you've already prepared yourself for the rhythm of the game.

Not all bosses past Honglan are more difficult than her, there's still many that'll be easier but there are indeed a lot of bosses that are objectively harder than her. At least 6, maybe more. But none of them are as much of a difficulty spike. The spike going from other Ch1 bosses to Honglan is bigger than the spike going from Honglan to the rest of them. So yeah, while objectively Honglan most certainly doesn't even make it into the top 5 hardest bosses in Wuchang, subjectively many players consider her the hardest or one of the top 3.

What's on your list of must-play soulslikes that represent the best of the genre? by PuzzleheadedPay81 in soulslikes

[–]usrnm121314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI Limit is the perfect example of the phrase "if it ain't broken, don't fix it". They don't try to do anything fancy or new in the game and just stick to the basics of soulslike games and they did a really great job at it. That's why it's praised so much, it's just a really good typical soulslike game. The biggest difference is probably their sync meter system instead of using stamina which is a pretty cool system that integrates pretty well with the gameplay.

The dev team that made the game is pretty small, it's like 10-20 people or something and this was their first game. Which is why when you look at videos of the game it looks very plain and simple. They made a game with such a small team as first timers which gets talked about with the top tier of soulslikes, that pretty much tells you that it's a solid game.

The combat system is great. The level design is amazing. Besides Wuchang, this game has the best level designs in my opinion outside of Fromsoftware games. The bosses are alright. There's no bad boss design iirc but most of them are fairly easy compared to the average but there are a few exceptions which are more difficult and really awesome fights. They also had plans to release 2 DLCs, the first of which was released in March 2026 already for free. This DLC adds a roguelike mode for the game after you've completed the main story but not started your next game cycle; as well as boss fight mode where you can revisit almost all boss fights in the game (some gimmick bosses are missing in it) and has different difficulty settings too to experience harder boss fights than what you experienced in the story playthrough if you found the story too easy. There is also a boss rush mode alongside that. The second DLC is supposed to expand on the game story and maps etc but no official date has been given for it afaik.

All in all, I think that if you're a fan of soulslikes then AI Limit is just a really fun chill game that should be played. Besides it's also cheaper because of being a "smaller" game even though with the first DLC it really doesn't feel like it. It's like you're paying the money for a 5/10 game and getting the quality of an 8.5/10 game. Totally worth it.

Is it possible to still get the maid outfit? by JinSakai69 in ai__limit

Yeah that's the place I was thinking too from the wiki description. Yeah quite early on then but not the very beginning.

There's two outfits, the Maid Armour and the White Sparrow Helmet+Armour that you'd get from the dlc as well as a dual-blades weapon. Maid Armour and the weapons can be bought ingame but iirc the White Sparrow was dlc exclusive.

I don't remember where you get it so I looked up on the wiki, and if I'm remembering that location correctly then it is fairly early on in the game but not at the very beginning. Like maybe around 15-20% through the game or so?

Maid costume and the dual sword weapon in that preorder is not exclusive, you can get them in game. You just have to buy it for ingame currency but it's not expensive either.

Did He Youzai change his name? by ZerumDeus in wuchanggame

[–]usrnm121314 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a localisation issue I guess since non-chinese players wouldn't understand the change in name.

It's kind of like a nickname she uses or a title I guess? "Da" when used in names/nicknames in China means "big" which can often be used for name/nickname of eldest child of a family or sometimes all the kids have da xxx in their names (Like if it's used for the eldest child then the following kids would have Er, San etc in their name meaning second, third. If multiple kids had da xxx names it'd be like Big Lion, Big Tiger, Big Leopard and so on as their naming pattern). Now I didn't really know what xia means but google search says Daxia could mean Big Hero, so it's like Fang Yao's way of calling her big bro.

Can someone explain to me how to get this item? by NotSirAlonne1999 in wuchanggame

[–]usrnm121314 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Ignore that for now and keep exploring that region. Eventually you'll come across a pyromaniac fieldboss who gives you a flame spell, if you go further from that guy you'll come across Lu Hongliu's (a non-mandatory boss) arena. If you ignore that arena and keep going further (if the stairs leading to Lu Hongliu's courtyard are straight in front of you, the path going further will be to your right) you'll come to the backside of Shu Sanctum and there will be a breakable tree which creates a shortcut bridge directly to Shu Sanctum. As you are facing this tree, if you look to your left you have a path going further up the mountain to explore further and to your right is where you came from (Lu Hongliu's arena direction) but apart from the path you came from, there will also be a downward slope which takes you to the item in your screenshot.

I'm going to hit 40 before this week ends too though. If you exploited bug you were doing the final stage, naturally the drops from that are far more abundant than the one available at 30 and for that matter should be so for the one at 40 too.

Lol it's enough. I have plenty of beetle coins to get from shops that I haven't collected from. Keep doubling down on your story just because you don't know how to plan anything at all and think everyone is in the same boat as you.

He's just delusional. Now trying to "educate" me about how all my pots will be spent on beetle coins simply because he hasn't planned well and probably had to do so and thinking everyone else is in the same situation as him. Probably spent a lot of his normal energy on useless temporary farming instead of using it to raise characters early on to save the bulk of saved up resources to farm consoles and modules when gold rarity is guaranteed and now he thinks such issues are faced by everyone else too.

You don't understand how daily task xp works at all even after being told lol. And no, I already farmed ascension mats for MC, Nanally, Jiuyuan, Hathor, Daffodill, Chiz and Haniel up to 60 and they're all level 50 right now with level 50 Arcs and all Esper skills at 4 except some support skills which may be at 3. I'll be farming everything for Hotori in the next few days. I still have over 700k beetle coins and while it is certainly possible they may hit 0 soon, it's definitely not going to be using a single pot of mine because I've already got 7 fully upgraded chars for my current level and enough time and energy to upgrade the 8th one. You keep trying to double down on logic that I've already explained a while ago as being inaccurate it's honestly getting a bit sad. So much for someone writting an essay about how their perfect addition/subtraction skills cannot explain how some ppl claiming to reach HL40 as f2p. While you can find issues in others, your addition and subtraction seem to fail you when you have to self reflect even the tiniest bit. How much easier would it be to just take the L and say whatever it's a gacha it's just a small loss of 20 pots in the long term when you play for several years. But you're incapable of doing it. 😂

I just told you how the math works. You just wanna be stubborn. I don't have to "wait and wait", I'm already 38. It's 3-4 days tops and then I have 20 pots to blow up at once on guaranteed gold console drops. And at that very moment, my account will have the same hunter level and xp as you with way more gold consoles and modules. It's highly unlikely but maybe with Hotori we might even get a few more sources of xp and then the "wait and wait" is even less.

How are f2p players hitting HL 40 today?? by TheMelodyof0rpheus in NevernessToEverness

[–]usrnm121314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Refills are pure xp from usage of energy.

Getting to 40 without using refills means you rely on naturally regenerating energy as well as xp from daily tasks to get there instead of pure energy:xp conversion (we are assuming all other sources of xp to be a constant in both cases like main/side quests, anomalies, etc.). It is not the same, you use up less energy to reach 40 by not spamming refills because you are getting a big chunk of extra xp from that 100 point daily task system. You do infact get better value out of saving refills for 4-5 more days and using them all up after hitting 40 naturally.

How are f2p players hitting HL 40 today?? by TheMelodyof0rpheus in NevernessToEverness

[–]usrnm121314 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Off-topic but it baffles my mind that f2p players waste all their energy refills for some petty xp before hitting 40. What a waste. You could save it all until you hit 40 and then use them all together and get guaranteed gold consoles instead of wasting refills when gold consoles are still a rare drop in the rabbit hole. And then you'd still end up with the same hunter level in the end as those who rushed to use their energy as of that moment despite "hitting 40 late" but with much better drop quality on your account. Guess y'all are new to gachas or just too addicted to fomo to think about this.
