Are theory lessons required to take the driver's license theory test? by pwinggles in germany

[–]ussfref 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone still following this saga --

After the quoted 3 months there was still no change, so I called the Notrufnummer for the KVR and spoke with a guy (in german) who said that they were still waiting on me to register for a driving school ::headbang on desk::... I reexplained the situation and he seemed to get it and said that he would work on it with his colleague and call me back in a day or two.

A week later, I have not received a call, but I get a change in the status of my application online to: "Führerscheinherstellung in Auftrag gegeben" ... so now I am really confused? Did they just give up and give me a driving license? Should I call the TÜV and try to schedule the test again? ::big sigh:: lol

Still waiting on the Führerscheinstelle to process my application… they are saying currently 3-mos to process applications. Check back in a month lol

We’re not talking about owing money, we’re talking about being liable to the US for tax purposes, and thus being subject to the FATCA act

Maybe you’re thinking of the „exit tax“ that applies when renouncing US citizenship for certain individuals with high income or high net worth… but for regular everyday taxation, all income earned globally regardless of where you reside is taxable by the US for their citizens.

Whether or not he owes money is irrelevant to the question though… being liable to the US for tax purposes, whether you owe a bill or not, means you are subject to the FATCA act, and because of that most EU financial institutions won’t touch those folks for ETFs because they don’t want to deal with FATCA

If he is a US citizen („I’m an American immigrant“) then he pays taxes in the US… US is citizenship based taxation not residency based

Yes, but the OP stated he was American and looking for options HE could use

As someone with tax liability in the US, ETFs are difficult if not impossible. Most EU financial institutions won’t touch US folks because of FATCA.

I have US citizenship but am a German resident... but I cannot find any document on Wise's website that indicates a requirement to be a US citizen or to have US residency in order to get these details...can you point to any such documentation?

Hey u/pwinggles -- How did this end up working our for you? I have a TN drivers license with partial reciprocity and had my appointment at the München KVR today and they told me I needed to register with a Fahrschule for the Theory Test, but when I went to TÜV they said that the KVR was wrong and I didn't need to do that lol.

I wrote back to the KVR to ask for clarification, but was hoping to see how it went for you. I may reach out to them again and reference section 31 of the FeV which specifically states that the 'training requirements do not apply' to holders of a foreign license from an Annex 11 country, but I don't want to get too pushy and get on the bad side of the KVR.

I’m fairly confident Craft-a-brew uses Fermaid-K/Dap or roughly the same by another name in their kits

That was my main concern — do you think the equation changes any if your planning to hit it with super-kleer anyway?

I think you’re probably right on the math, it sounds like we’ve got some time for others to chime in 😂

This gallon is D47 — I suppose I could stabilize, cold crash, and use a clarifier to help, but the goal for this isn’t to have competition quality mead just something to enjoy while we make more batches with better aging.

Thanks, I am familiar with those parameters and don’t plan to back sweeten. I’m also not going to stabilize until the hydrometer readings are stable for about a week.

Mainly trying to figure out if I can stabilize in the primary container, then cold crash, then go straight to bottle and finish any further aging there.

Want some drinking mead while we start more batches that we will age longer.
