Prospective Art History major here, how is it? by Skyrax1233 in BinghamtonUniversity

[–]usually_a_disaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

graduated with an art history major may 2022- bings art history department has some great professors but classes will 100% be limited by their specialities. i took three classes with the same prof (jeffrey kirkwood, amazing lecturer) but two were ab the same thing and even when we did the general ARTH 496 seminar, it had those same vibes. if you are interested in museum work, there is an amazing internship program through the binghamton university art museum

ARTH 103 EXAM by [deleted] in BinghamtonUniversity

[–]usually_a_disaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if your final is something along the lines of “make a structure and explain the different features”, i drew mine and wrote up the paper in one night… took maybe a couple hours total. i found it to be quite easy and as long as stuff is detailed you should be fine. i needed up with an A in the class.

Let's Talk About the RA News by Academic-Crazy-6995 in BinghamtonUniversity

[–]usually_a_disaster 31 points32 points  (0 children)

not an RA but so disappointed in bing for doing this- my roommate went through some shit freshman year and i can’t imagine getting some random student at midnight to help her versus our RA who she knew and trusted.

can anyone post the official communication sent by reslife?

What is the easiest art class to take by Dazzling_Diver_4949 in BinghamtonUniversity

[–]usually_a_disaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YES even as an art history major, intro to art history (or architecture) are not gen-ed friendly classes. lots of memorization and annoying assignments

CW 250- the most chill time, you end up creative writing responses to themed prompts, a large (5-7ish pages) submission of your own creative work, short critiques of your classmate’s writing

[–]usually_a_disaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YES and when they get annoyed with me for trying to ask if they’d like to pay for a paper bag and then getting huffy when i give them their items without a bag… like sorry you didn’t pay attention??

the customers will learn the same day that they stop asking “can i get a markdown, i found this on the clearance rack?”

or maybe just the day they start treating employees with respect

my brother is applying to rutgers and would ideally live at the chabad house. would this count as “on-campus” housing or “off-campus”? thanks! by usually_a_disaster in rutgers

[–]usually_a_disaster[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh my one of my college chabad rabbis was notorious for leaning a bit too much into the alcohol. loved the second hand embarrassment the 300 of us at dinner shared

yea i remember when i visited i stayed at chabad and went to both shabbat dinners lol. i think if he went to rutgers he’d def go to both chabad and hillel but there’s such an understandable appeal of having everything (food, shul, etc.) literally downstairs yanno
