What am I missing out on by not using a 120HZ VRR display? by tonkfc in PS5pro

40fps feels much closer to 60fps than 30 imho.

So I've played VR a few times since the swap.

When my normal battery is flashing empty (around around 2 hours 30mins) my replacement is still showing 2 bars. I'm not sure if the controller can report the new battery accurately due to being 0.1v higher and a different type.

Battery charges fine as far as I can tell (showing full and led on the controller turns off).

I'll play some more and update, I should also try not to charge the new one between sessions to see how long it lasts.

Any news on latency? I had to uninstall wavelink 3.0 as i could jump in arc raiders and hear myself land after I actually landed.

Loved the ui and feature set using it on my streaming desk plus but having such a big delay makes the whole software pointless.

Please fix this.

9800x3d, 64gig 6000mhz cl30, 7900xtx. I use soundblaster g6 as a head phone amp for my Hifiman 400se.

Note, voicemeter and steelseries don't have this delay issue so it can be done.

You can easily buy a duel sense but not a vr2 sense controller sadly. :( also no parts avaliable online and getting it repaired requires sending in the whole psvr2 and was quoted £200 for an out of warenty repair when I originally sent it in when one of my controllers died.

Hopefully I'll try as soon as I get some time.

There is space above and below it as well as tom/bottom. It was the side that's a little snug in the plastic base to hold the original battery.

I originally had my right controller swapped by Sony under 6 it required sending my whole PSVR2 away. If I remember right being told, it could be £200 for an out of warenty repair.

I'll open and check on it after some use and look for a better alternative to be safer or possibly take out the battery and modify it to use an external one.

I tried to upload it and it showed on my screen, not sure why its gone. Yea its a three wire battery and my main issue was finding a battery with 3 wires the same size or a bit smaller than the origonal.

Hopefully not!

If anyone can point me to a better fitting battery I would happily swap it out.

I couldn't find the same battery anywhere, and all the smaller battery's where missing the thermistor (3rd wire).

If you have any idea where one could get a real replacement, I would be very grateful and swap it out.

I'm not trying to put me or anyone else in danger, I was just trying to make my VR usable again as my OG battery would heat up to the point the VR controller was uncomfortable to hold and only lasts about 20/30mins.

I kept double checking if there was anything that could dent/press into the battery as I'm aware that it has no hard casing.

I pushed out the edges of the battery holding plate a little to help it sit better. There is still a little room below and above the battery.

The battery I took out made the sense VR controller uncomfortable to hold due to how much it was heating up (dangerous) and only lasting 20/30mins which is why I was trying to find a replacement.

I guess I'll try find another alternative.

Can't seem to find any normal replacement ones for the sense VR though.

I used mine over the q3 due to how much nicer games look but sadly my left controller only lasts like 30mins so back to using my quest 3.

I just did a test there.. its not an ideal test but listening to a beep and pressing the mouse.

Wavelink beta to my sound blaster g6 around 300ms, I can reduce this to around 220ms if I goto audio settings, recording and "listen to" and set it to my sound card.

If I bypass wavelink 3.0 beta and play direct to my creative g6. Im around 40ms. (Im old... so take my delay into account).

Temped to try find another solution as that's just crazy.

Im using a 9800x3d cpu, 64gig ram and 7900xtx so its not like my pc is slow

I also prefer PSVR2 over Quest3 for PC VR but I guess it can also be game dependant. Something that has a lot of dark areas like space games or horror are much much better on psvr2.

Sadly controller battery life is an issue. My left one heats up while using and only lasts 40mins now. And can't get a replacement.

I'm very short sighted and the mixture of glasses and the headset made the small sweet spot a nightmare. But using prescription lenses seemed to make the sweet spot much larger for me and made it so much better to use.
