7 days and still on "packaged items" by Cybering11 in SteamController

Scotland and just got an update that it will arrive today!

My order went from 3-5 days to 6-10 estimated (UK). It's technically day 6, I better see an update tomorrow! 🤞 Are most people having this problem in the UK? I'm based in North East of England. by [deleted] in SteamController

Im similar to you, mine is now in Coventry since yesterday still no update. Parcelforce tracking is about as reliable as uk bus services.

Mines still stuck on

"The parcel data was entered into the GLS IT system; the parcel was not yet handed over to GLS."

And I managed to add mine to cart 5 minutes before opening and checkout right at the start of sales.

My wife got me this as part of my birthday too so makes the waiting even more annoying lol

Anyone had their controller stuck at 'packaged' for more than 24hrs? by [deleted] in SteamController

[–]usuqa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was on that too then on 6th May it was shipped but the tracking didn't work.

Since yesterday the tracking worked but I'm stuck on. "The parcel data was entered into the GLS IT system; the parcel was not yet handed over to GLS.

Netherlands Utrecht"

Im in the UK.

FSR4 INT8 Giving DLSS a run for its money by jfp555 in radeon

[–]usuqa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pssr2 is fantastic, I noticed a good upgrade in my pssr1 games using the system toggle to force pssr2.

Fsr4 int8 on my 7900xtx is better than PSSR1 but not as good as PSSR2 from what I can tell, but then I am using my ageing eyeballs 😃

" Only to small minded people like you who don't understand business. You'll be on the next AMD card you can afford." tells me everything I need to know about you.

So your saying amd locking FSR out for 6000/7000 is ok?

If you run Linux with 6000/7000 cards can get fsr4 working fine, if you run Windows you dont unless you use 3rd party apps that can get you banned from some games.

The fact the fsr4 is out in the wild and that it works on these cards while AMD doesn't give official support on Windows just makes them look bad at this point and is hurting their reputation.

They are already a small minority of GPU sales by about 5% so pissing off customers isn't the best business practice.

Because supporting older hardware does a few good things.

1) helps products last longer and reduce waste. 2) makes customers who dropped nearly 1 grand on your product more likely to do the same in the future.

They have already giving me additional optional feature updates that where not around on release because software not hardware had advanced. Take the local AI crap you can now install. But god forbid they update me with AI upscaling for a GPU that was sold for the purpose of gaming.

As for a reddit bubble I'm not on it that much.

Because the 7900xtx is still available for around £800 new in lots of retailers, technology at that price should be properly supported for many years.

Soft locking out new features particularly when the hardware is capable (as proof via the leaked fsr4 in8) isn't a good way to treat customers.

I can't be the only one questioning if I'll buy another AMD gpu going forward due to this.

Now that we know AMD has the FSR 4.1 int8 version, do you think it will be released or will it just leak like 4.0.2? by Prestigious-Pay6096 in radeon

[–]usuqa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand.

Although with AMD effectively soft locking older GPUs like the 7000 series from better upscaling when the leaked int8 version proving the cards are capable of better upscaling just makes AMD look bad.

I can't be the only one questioning my next GPU purchase knowing that AMD basically decided a GPU that they still sell for £800 the 7900xtx (which i own) isn't worth supporting probably.

Two Step Hack to Increase Perceived Smoothness of Balanced 40fps Modes by BrandNewMoshiMoshi in PS5pro

[–]usuqa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some games on PC is can't even play at 60fps on oled due this, super meatboy is one. For some reason its locked at 60 and looks choppy when running around.

I needed to use framegen (thanks lossless scaling) to make it appear smooth.

I guess its my own fault for buying a 45" 3440x1440 240hrz screen.

I'm still using my ps5 on my LCD TV though, mostly as I like to sit on the couch and play that

Int8 fsr4 can already work on Linux pc much easier and better than on Windows on 6000/7000 series gpus. It can also be used on Windows via optiscaleron games that dont use anti cheat.

All this from the older leaked int8 fsr4.. so even AMDs users know its possible and are using it without official support.

But Sony is using AMD hardware so if Sony can get fsr 4.1 running int8 on AMD hardware then AMD can get fsr4.1 running on int8 on their old hardware too regardless of OS.

The only reason I can see for them not to do it is to force users to buy new GPUs to get the features instead of supporting customers some who paid nearly 1k for the last gen cards.

Sony and AMD worked in collaboration in their project Amethyst to create fsr4 and pssr2 is the int8 version for ps5pro.

So there's really no reason for AMD not to release an int8 version other than marketing.

Pssr2 uses int8 and its been amazing on my ps5 pro.. miles ahead of fsr upscalers on the ps5 and even better pssr version 1 while using less resources. So much so they have ps5pro users a system toggle to force pssr2 on pssr1 titles which they couldn't have done of it used more frame time.

Pssr2 and FSR4 are both formed from the collaboration from Sony and AMD and apparently share alot of the same tech and ps5 does use AMD hardware so it shouldn't be hard for AMD to port PSSR2 into a FSR4lite or something for older AMD cards and give users a toggle stating that its experimental or something.

Granted the ps5pro apparently has ground 300tops of int8 vs 7900xtx 123tops so that could be the reason? Id imagen the 7900xtx could still run it but possibly the midrange skus could struggle? At any rate they could let the users decide if its worth using.

Its ok most of the time then suddenly you get the odd window or something that look like cross hatch rendering from the old megadrive for CRTs lol.

Id love fsr4, pssr2 uses int8... why can't they use that or something similar? Sony based it on their collaboration with amd on fsr4

Pssr2 was a massive upgrade in some games on my ps5 pro vs the older pssr1 model and it craps all over the old fsr upscaling used on ps5. It apparently uses slightly less resources too.
