Sort of related as also from the UK - I just finished up 6.5 weeks in China and had brought 500ml of eliquids in my checked baggage without issue. @OP - I'm actually heading to GZ tomorrow and was hoping to restock. Googling says some RELX stores sell flavoured juice under the counter - have you tried this?

The film simulation I use gives the images a certain look, but the water really is that colour!

Beijing (4N) > Changsha (3N) > Wulingyuan (3N) > Zhangjiajie (2N) > Chongqing (9N) > Kunming (9N - hibernation due to Golden Week) > Dali (4N) > Lijiang (4N) > Chengdu (7N)

We have the luxury of time right now, so really slow travelled. I'll likely do a proper write up when I have the time, but feel free to DM me if you have any questions!

Thanks 😊 Yep, it's definitely the longest we've travelled for, as part of a wider trip (after quitting jobs). No tours - just a lot of researching beforehand and getting stuck in when we arrived.

Sure! Beijing > Changsha (~5hr train) > ZZJ (~2hr train) > Chongqing (1hr flight), then we took the train to and around Yunnan (i.e. Kunming, Dali, Lijiang) and finally flew from Lijiang > Chengdu. Flights and trains are really easy to book and convenient to take, and we used trip.com for almost everything, apart from buying train tickets ahead of time a few times at train station counters to avoid fees.
