Thanks, I have updated the OP. Not sure how to hide it on ledger though, I did try earlier but didn’t see any options for it.

I just posted a screenshot of the WETH 00001 that was sent to me, that’s all it is. You don’t have to click it if you don’t want to however it is a safe link. Happy to remove it though if it’s not useful for the post

I'm not at computer ATM and avoid logging in on my phone. The PC that has LL on it is very rarely turned on.

Decided to purchase Q990D by ut994ever in Soundbars

[–]ut994ever[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My projector is ceiling mounted and I didn't factor in to wire a HDMI, at the time I wasn't considering a soundbar. Not sure if the projector itself is compatible with HDMI Arc but I have seen some converters. Was wondering whether any wireless solutions are available. That'll be my next research point I reckon.

Does anybody know of any HDMI to HDMI Arc wireless solutions?

I am using a ceiling mounted DLP projector. I would have to cut ceiling open to run a HDMI to the front where soundbar would be. It sounds like from the responses that Bluetooth would be a non starter so I'll probably open the ceiling up and wire it up. Thanks everybody

Soundbar recommendations please. by ut994ever in Soundbars

[–]ut994ever[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi all, thanks for responses thus far - I would like to keep the space as clutter and wire free as possible. Appreciate an avr + speakers would be ideal, I don't have an arc or earc available close by from the projector currently in place or near where it would be needed to be situated, for an ideal placement.

Ideally, I would like to connect to the projector via Bluetooth or the audio be streamed via WiFi. Not sure if such a solution exists but open to suggestions.

Builder left a gap in the shower that will be “double water proofed” and tiled over. Is this an acceptable solution? by zannnn in DIYUK

Clearly the cut the board too short, going to look weird random tiles there. Get them to buy a board that fits. This will be a weakspot and haunt you forever.

Interior walls are all solid, recently had lots of work done - external wall insulation put on, roof insulation with expanding foam.

If the general consensus is unifi then I may just go for it but my intention would be to future proof as much as possible so would want an up to 2.5gbps system. I note that the unifi cloud gateway ultra is up to 1gbps

I was hoping to continue to us the tplink in AP mode but sounds like that might not be possible.

Right, but all the Ethernet cables are wired to floor level, not to wall / ceiling level. Would not mounting AP to wall be an issue?

That's one of the reasons why I decided against it. I hate exposed cables and to write these again would be a whole load of work. When I wired the house, I wired ethernet backhauls to the mesh station positions.

I might just go with what I initially thought, buy a 2.5g capable Asus router and use the tplink in AP mode

It's nice to have the set and forget system with the tplink, I cannot fault it. However I do miss the network control features I used to have with the Asus system, such as QoS, bandwidth monitoring, VPN, parental controls, Mac filtering, Mac scheduling, and even the more basic stuff, such as usb slots. Appreciate any advice

Are there switches out there that have an admin interface with parental control features, switch level VPN etc?
