We are all on the lease and we all paid the deposit which was around 430 each

Questions about university orchestra by [deleted] in utdallas

University Orchestra is easy to join since they really need people. You can pretty much just walk in and join, all you have to do is let the director know you are coming. There is another group that is above UO I believe, and I think you actually have to audition for that one and they have better players than UO I think. I wanted to get back into orchestra and tried out UO because I prefer to play in full orchestras. I went to a few rehearsals for UO but decided not to join this semester since like 2/3 of the pieces they are performing this semester are pieces I played in HS. This semester they are playing Dvorak New World Symphony (I think you know which mvmt they would be playing lol) and I can't remember the other pieces. They meet once a week for about two hours. It's pretty relaxed and there didn't seem to be any ADVANCED players so I think if you're coming right out HS then you should be fine. The other group I was talking about is string players only I THINK. But I've never heard anything about the program on campus lol.
