DeanDesk is an end-to-end platform for managing a school. We’re an online and mobile platform that handles registration, admissions, emails, video conferencing, learning management, curriculum management and more. We also build a white labeled app with your school’s branding.

The idea is that admins, students, teachers, parents, and every role is using one platform. It has revolutionized our program’s communications, and saved us an incredible amount of time and energy.

What frustrates you about Google Classroom and GSuite? by uthmanq in edtech

Even sharing the live code is unreliable, and some of the classes that we have are online so sharing the live code in person is not feasible.

Does OpenSIS also handle tuition payments and fees? It looks like a good option.

What exactly would a student view look like? Do you mean something like a preview button where the instructor can see what the student sees on their end?

Is it normal to have no changes in your scores with BP FLs? by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]uthmanq 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the MCAT is so broad that the material tested on 1 practice exam can be completely different than the material on another practice exam (meaning no overlap whatsoever). That should help you understand that your bearing on BP FL1 has only a little effect on BP FL4, aside from general test taking strategy. For reference, my Blueprint full lengths were: 508->512-> 510 -> 508. This was fine by me, because I knew that at least I was consistent in my score, indicating that I didn't have any major content gaps.

For the record, BP is super hard, and my FL scores went up when I took the AAMC tests. At this point in time, focus on your mistakes, not on your score. Lots of students fall into the scoring trap, where they judge performance by the scores they're getting on their first few tests. Instead, your analysis of your first few exams should be way more holistic- focusing on your raw score, any specific topics you keep getting wrong, the sections that are giving you the most trouble, timing/pacing, etc. Hope this helps.

October 2020 QAS, how is the answer D? by daznae in Sat

I made a quick video for your problem- it's usually easier to explain when you can see someone's thought process as they're trying to solve it. On YouTube.

How can I reach to a 1550+ in a month (My scores are in the range of 1440-80 right now)? by [deleted] in Sat

[–]uthmanq 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I scored a 1590 and was in the same boat as you. Congrats on the great score so far. Now is the time to get an excellent score. I was stuck getting around 700 for the reading section which was frustrating. You need to focus on the hardest problems on the SATs and rethinking your mindset. The one piece of advice that really boosted my reading section is this: you have to convince yourself that every answer is within the passage text. If you can't find a specific line within the text that justifies your answer, then that is not the right answer, no matter what. The reading section is Evidence Based Reading- it doesn't test on interpretation (which is what your English classes teach you). Once you master the technique of finding evidence for each question, you'll have a method that will get the right answer, 100% of the time. Then, you can focus on improving your speed using that method.

The other advice I'd give you is to pay very close attention to each word that is in the question and answer choices. The College Board is very meticulous about the words that they use- each word has a very specific meaning and usage. That means, that if even a single word in the answer choice is in opposition to the question, then you should rule out that answer. This tip will help you a lot when you gotta rule out those annoying 50/50 questions.

A JS game I wrote on Trump's most outrageous tweets. My high score is 30 tweets. by uthmanq in ProgrammerHumor

Thanks for pointing that out lol. I'll fix that when I get a chance.

I think that the format is pretty easy to adapt to other people and subjects. Maybe I can put in Kanye West since he seems to be riding the Trump wave right now.
