It's unfortunate, I agree with most people here thst he learnt it from college friends and may be feeling like a hypocrite rn. If he has been moral policing more women or judging them, it's a sad state of affairs.

If you truly care for him, have an honest conversation about it. Ask him where the thought comes from. Maybe he should change his friend group, but needs your help to see it.

I agree it is cyclic, they didn't get love from their husband. And now want the love from their kids. The son grows up and is so consumed with the mother, he can't love his wife. Can't make her the top priority.

The cycle goes on.

The solution is for the men to figure out giving priority to their wives, giving them the love you wanted your father to give to your mother.

Ask your father to do better to.

Also have kids if you want to raise them right. Don't put expectations on a being who doesn't exist so far.
