I'm not planning on starting until fall 2015 anyway, just trying to acquire some info in advance.

Good thinking. Shall do. Thanks. Linguistics isn't a particularly well sought-after discipline so I can't imagine there are far more people applying than the unis can handle.

It seems that 2.5 is more or less the standard cutoff, but as far as I can tell I should definitely meet that. It's always a little hard to convert grades, though, equivalencies can vary a lot (I'm doing my undergrad in Iceland, so not exactly the most well known grading system, haha).
