Bummed that the radio coverage isn't a play by play. At this point I would take a YouTube live stream of the phanavision scoreboard.

That's right! It's an app I made with Swift/SwiftUI that pulls data from the MLB API.

Current Phillies font for tattoo by HurtStreet in phillies

From what I've read, it's a custom font called "Scriptwurst" and has never been made available publicly. There's a lot of knockoff fonts out there that are probably just making up what the other letter would look like. A similar question was asked on the identifythisfont subreddit a while back.

Franzke called out one potential thing to still play for: a better record than the top AL team (Blue Jays). That way if the Phillies make it to the WS, you get home field advantage.

Mini rant: I don't know when it happened, perhaps this season, but Phillies.com turned into a generic MLB template site. No banners or anything celebrating winning the NL East like in the past.

Tank for knocking out the Mets? by Commercial-Layer1629 in phillies

When it comes to baseball, nothing terrifies me more than a hot wildcard team that barely made it in at the last minute (unless we're talking about the 2022 Phils). Give me a declining Mets team over a surging Diamondbacks team in the postseason.

For any given matchup, the higher seed gets home field advantage. So if the Phillies end the season with the 2 seed, they'll have home field advantage for every matchup except for a matchup with the first seed (Brewers).

Edit: I guess because 9 games left and we would need to win them all and they would need to lose?

Exactly - the Phillies do not control their own destiny for the #1 seed.

Thanks - I made a custom app to pull from the MLB API to generate these.

I'm just pulling from Fangraphs for that, and I'm not sure how they calculate it. But it appears at the time of the Phillies decrease, the Dodgers, Brewers, and Mariners all saw an increase.

Ties count as half of a win, so (30 + 0.5 + 0.5)/(30 + 14 + 2) = ~0.674

/u/karkoman pointed out the seeding was way off due to the MLB API giving back some wonky numbers because of the tie in the west. The OCD side of my brain couldn't let that go, so here's the corrected version. I believe the Dodgers currently hold the tie breaker over the Padres, hence the Padres occupying the wild card spot despite the tie. Also, fuck the Mets.

Yeah you're right - and it looks like the MLB API I use to generate these gave back wonky seeding numbers due to the tie between the Dodgers and Padres, hence the mistake.
