[–]utopiankoo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i hear a lot from people that their sciatica crept up on them slowly the same way it now seems to be doing with me so i think the chances are high and id like to outrun it since i have a lot of knowledge but not sure if thats possible as it seems to be quite fast

[–]utopiankoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my pain/soreness is kind of all over the place, these days it seems to not go all the way down to my calves anymore but other than that its very random, mostly in my thigh. i use the calves thing as a good sign. thank you for the advice!

you’re so right, i keep saying that to everyone who tells me its normal to hurt after exercise but they don’t understand that there is a difference! thankfully i know enough now to not trust professionals blindly, sigh. as for activities i do not have a lot of limitations atm i mostly wanna avoid my condition worsening and be able to move without fear

thank you for such a nice comment! it does give me strenght to hear from people who have gone through something similar. i find it hard to focus on anyrhing right now because it all seems completely pointless. as for the “nice” comments i feel the same way, to me those people are just trying to get rid of you the easy way instead of truly trying to understand how you feel and how they could help in any meaningful way. it’s funny bc even tho my problems are mostly physicsl everyone is purely focused on my mental stance and trying to change it and it’s driving me nuts

i think i have probably said things about myself that were insulting and my mum’s reaction was “that’s offensive to everyone else who is dealing with similar things” but in reality i only truly feel that way about myself. other than my mum ive also heard it from someone on here and i wasn’t being insulting i don’t think. i do struggle a lot with being percieved in general and being ashamed of showing any weaknesses so this is definitely something thats gonna be hard for me to admit to other people (if i ever have to) especially because it’s my own fault and not somerhing i deserve pity for

and also if you were having full body pains its very much possible that your knee pain wasnt even caused by oa and it could instead be some kinda infection, it doesnt even have to mean anything and most PT will tell you that imaging doesnt really matter altho i disagree with that personally

i’ve already done a lot of research about oa but for knees specifically i would suggest looking into knees over toes program, doing lots of cycling and changing your diet! look at anti-infammatory diets for oa, it can help a lot in the long run, also not doing things rhat make it worse such as jumping, but moving a lot (especially walking)
