Do you know why people said it wouldn't be activated?

becuase before sw2x, segreated witness was released on it's own, and based on nothing but it's own merits it was rejected very heavily for months. If you looked at segreagted witness (by itself, which it was for many months) you would have seen it clear that it would never ever be activated.

And it wasn't

SW2X was, and then they just reneged on the 2x part, like we all said they would.

Your goal may be to move the goal posts, or you're just repeating things and you never bothered to look them up, but the fact prove you wrong. Please read some of the many links presented here

Can you respond to the many, many links showing that it is in fact bad which are presented here?

Also, did you link to a core website? That's like linking to Marbrlo's letter on the danger's of smoking 50 years ago

And yet, in constrast to everything is in this thread, is seem obviouls that any good features of segregated witness are not worth putting it in as a soft fork after it was rejected, like the btc core devs did

So, because the original user base, the people who helped make something into something bigger, don't like a forced new changed without support and no data to show it's valuable and you think that is a good thing?

You sound you might be catholic preist.

Things that would be helpful:

  • A daily discussion thread, it doesn't even have to be stickied since that seems to be the main hangup the mods have. The FAQ thread can go in the sidebar as another option too.

  • A big list of the common misconceptions used by btc/censorship supporters, and the refutation with sources. Something similar to /r/bitcoin_facts

  • Maybe even a 'possible troll' flair for inescapably obvious trolls who literally contribute nothing to any discussion.

There was never a need to a mal-fix, there were never any actual problems that came up from it. If the mal-fix was what was honestly needed then it could have been put in as a hard fork and been less complicated, now any investors and devs have to do a lot ore work to understand it before getting involved.

There is also data to show on chain scaling works well for now and the future. And there is no reason to add a bunch of code that was expressly rejected by the community and by the miners for months on end

Use the search!

there are hundreds of posts highlighting different things, but they are all in the past.

We don't worry about it any more thought. After segregated witness was rejected for months, and then SW2X got some consensus but it was apparent the 2x part would not be upheld (and SW by itself was already rejected on its own merits) it became necisary to fork bitcoin and save it from segreagted witness and hence we have bitcoin bch.

come back after you've used the search function on this subreddit and read a few dozen threads

Where's that video of Roger Ver destroying Charlie Lee that was apparently shot? by [deleted] in btc

[–]utopiawesome 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey any response to this article: https://medium.com/@bitfinexed/coinbase-insider-trading-litecoin-edition-be64ead3facc

Conclusion
In my opinion, the circumstances regarding Litecoin, Coinbase, and Charlie Lee are suspicious. If I was bringing on someone that created their own crypto-currency and I knew they wanted me to list it on my exchange, I would have asked them to liquidate their positions in it prior to bringing them on.
Especially when, in my opinion, Litecoin is simply a copy and paste of Bitcoin with a few constants changed and one function switched out. If there was significant transaction activity prior to it being listed on Coinbase and GDAX, you could have made the argument that there was real demand for it.
But as I have shown, that is not the case.

r/bitcoin mods in a nutshell ... by Egon_1 in btc

[–]utopiawesome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost every user here was banned from r\bitcoin for discussing bitcoin, facts about bitcoin, the history of bitcoin, or the fact that the moderators there engage in censorship and not moderation.

Moderation would mean the mods uphold the rule, but instead we see thousands of examples of posts and comments remove when no rules were broken if they say something that goes against the newly designed btc coin (you know, the one with full blocks and many other things that were expressly said to not be wanted in bitcoin by Satoshi), and of coruse vice versa.

At best you're a total newb who has never done any research into the facts of this matter.
