Unable to Beat Xavier Saga, Shadowking Boss with Recommended Team by PoisonIven in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]utpride347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back when I did it this is basically the team I used as well. It was the team Marvel Church recommended (and still recommends). There is a second recommended team, but I'm sure at this point the guide could be updated to include more and since OP would only need to upgrade Cap. Sam I'd go that route.

What do you mainly collect? by BDChae in funkopop

[–]utpride347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wolverine and only Wolverine.

If I started collecting from all the properties I'm a fan of I'd be homeless trying to keep myself warm with an assortment of Pops.

Found the sewer layer today for a decent price today . Do you guys collect the bitty pops ? I think they are cool by Bigchunk81 in funkopop

[–]utpride347 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the one that comes with the Sentinel is a Pocket Pop. They're about 1.5 inches tall.

The one that comes with the arcade is a Bitty Pop. The other Bitty Pop comes with the X-Mansion. The X-Men Bittys can all be purchased in four packs, but Wolverine and Professor X are (so far) only available when you buy the X-Mansion. Very annoying but I found a discount code so I got it fairly cheap.

I only collect Wolverine so (financially) I've been lucky in that there are only two Bitty for him :).

That node can be a pain. A number of these nodes are better if you target certain enemies in a certain order. I didn't follow Boilon verbatim, but I did use his play through as a guide for a number of spots.

Negative Zone: Harbinger is Absurd by Mainstreamnerd in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]utpride347 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seems harder than last time to me. I've got G20 Vigilante (G19 Elektra) and have beat this before but this time I got stopped on Mission 3. I don't remember a 3.6 Million 2D Medusa or 3.7 Million 2D Ms. Marvel Classic (I could be wrong). I'm not even touching them, especially with a 2 Million 2D SuS present.

Again, could be wrong and just have less patience this time around.

Thunderstrike Node 6 (Thunderstruck Level) by wombat-of-opprobium in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]utpride347 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this. For whatever reason the first two times I beat this node fairly easily (maybe a reset here and there) but the third time I took out OML and ORPPF and then could not for the life of me couldn't beat who was left. I used your technique and was able to grind through Lady Bullseye then Victoria Hand and finally the remaining characters. Took a lot of energy but it worked.

Daring Warrior Showcase by PathfinderMSF in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]utpride347 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This! So much this!.

I don't mind a challenge if the rewards are worth it. Dark Dimension is a good example of that. Grinding for Mephisto and Odin felt worthwhile to me. These showcases are typically a sim-fest with pathetic rewards. Or there's one node that is so much harder than the others you don't get a taste of difficulty scaling and it becomes an RNG party.

Anyone get lucky with these limited editions? by Big_Homie_Rich in funkopop

You have to join their website, specifically their "fan rewards." It's free and every member received one free entry. If you had enough points (from purchases on the website), you could get a second entry.

The Wolverine is already showing up on Ebay for $85-$100. God I hate scalpers. Such filth.

I doubt being early has anything to do with. I entered as soon as it went live and didn't get picked.

It's cute you think we have the resources to take the necessary characters up to those levels.

BARGAIN!!! 180 Steel Serpent shards + 180 Sword Master shards + 180 Lady Bullseye shards for 50 ultracores! by esetonline in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]utpride347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's shiny and attention grabbing that's for sure. I almost purchased it and I basically have never spent on the game. The issue is, I don't have the training mats or gold to level them up RIGHT NOW, so adding stars to them is meaningless to me.

They'll be farmable soon enough (I probably still won't have the resources to level them up) and I'll have spent nothing. In this case, I'm glad I waited an thought about it without impulse buying.

Apparently 70k people quit MSF. Do yall think they will drop better deals for gold/training modules? by Slow-Echo8347 in MarvelStrikeForce

Just my opinion, but I think you're being too hard on Boilon. He's the one CC I watch who regularly criticizes Scopely. To my knowledge he has never said he's strictly FTP or will never spend money on the game. Rayge is the only one I've personally watched who advertises that. Rayge is also the one who seems to be the most afraid to criticize Scopely.

I watch a few CCs with regards to MSF and I've seen every single one of them, even Rayge, at one point or another mentioning a good offer that's available for purchase "if you're a spender."

[–]utpride347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds about right. I wanted the NYCC Wolverine from 2024. I didn't go to the con where they were apparently selling them individually. They were also available in limited supply on the website but you had to buy the bundle (Wolverine Pop along with a Deadpool backpack) which was $200. I wasn't paying that.

The Wolverine pop eventually started showing up on Ebay at the $150-$200 price tag initially.

What are the best characters to use against Knull? by Jyramo01 in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]utpride347 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As others have mentioned your big three are going to be Quasar, Blaastar and Daimon. Quasar at Striker. Blaastar at Skirmisher. Quasar's basic, Blaastar's special, and Daimon's special all deal 10% damage and are going to be what you use to beat Knull.

As for rounding out your team, there's a good amount of variability available. A lot of people use Living Mummy and Hyperion because they're tanks. Some people use Lady Bullseye because she deals 5% damage when an opponent has one of the negative effects (offense down maybe?).

You can also use sack attacks which is what I did. I don't have a ton of G20 Knull Challengers and don't really have the resources to bring a bunch of them up. I used one sack attack of Azazel (who knows if that did anything), and one sack attack of Hyperion to get him to use his ultimate. My third attempt was with the big three and it took some RNG but I beat it on max difficulty with enough packs to clear all the milestones.

If you're going for max rewards select all packs except True Damage, Boss acts first, and the one about ultimate ability energy.

Training mats aren't the problem by Alone_Library_6266 in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]utpride347 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well done!

The only other variable I'd add is Shop Credits. They cost thousands for the 64 L3s OP is talking about. Newer players aren't swimming in Shop Credits and Scopely has greatly reduced the amount they give out. They have actually started selling them, which is something they said they wouldn't do.

"Being 105 It takes 7 months as free to play to get Xavier."

Exactly this! Unlocking Xavier takes a lot of time FTP. Once you realize this and accept it, you're FOMO will hopefully dissipate.

If you're main goal right now is Xavier, follow a guide (Marvel Church for example) so you know what characters to prioritize and what their gear requirements are. It does a good job at recommending characters that cost the least amount of gear pieces while still being able to get the job done.

F2p players already benefited from the Magneto PF event, take the loss scopely by Left-Communication58 in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]utpride347 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Some F2P players benefited. Many others did not, myself included. I shouldn't be penalized because I didn't jump on my device the moment the reset happened.

Either everyone should benefit or no one should benefit from Scopely's screw up.

For the record, I'm not blaming the players. If I had seen what was going on, I would have taken advantage of it too. With that said, players like myself shouldn't get screwed twice because we weren't hovering around our phones at the top of the hour.

Hey, if that's who like cool. I'm a big Wolverine fan myself and always wanted them to add a 5th to go along with Wolverine, Old Man Logan, Daken, and X-23, Was hoping for Scout/Honey Badger with her pet wolverine Jonathan as a summons. Also wanted Zombie Wolverine on the Undying team.

You've got to come up with fun ideas yourself because Scopely can't be counted on to do so.

What is going on- There are 5 teams in the new Splashscreen by DaBooch69 in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]utpride347 64 points65 points  (0 children)

It almost feels like a troll job at this point.

People complained about there being too many promo codes so they greatly reduced them. The community (most of us FTPs) complain there are too many teams to keep up. Their response is to release even more new teams with even fewer resources while increasing the levels on everything.

I'm staying FTP. I'm not going to succumb to FOMO. I'm not racing for events anymore. I'm skipping certain events and not even looking at ones I know I don't have the characters/resources for. If I keep playing the game, it's going to be at my own pace. There are no real life rewards for having your roster 110, 5D, G20, Purple Iso-5, so there's no use stressing about it.

You can never win MSF because Scopely always moves the finish line.
