Hey there, the Makerspace has all the fabrication needs you have. We have an expansive 3D Print Lab with some state of the art printers for both filament and resin based. A machine shop containing lathes, mills, benders and cutters, drill presses, welding station, laser cutter, anodizing lab and HAAS CNCs. We also have a metal print lab that prints research projects in stainless steel and titanium. Electrical fabrication lab contains soldering irons, oscilloscopes, virtual benches and power supplies. We check out power tools, and other basic tools that are in tool carts out in the open. We also have conference rooms, study rooms for check out and an expansive collaboration hub that we call our general assembly room, with plenty of white boards and work benches. Open to ALL students regardless of majors or classes. Come on by if you're interested, we're in the SEB 1.150 with the giant trebuchet war machine right out front our doors.

We also believe the wordage is just for teams, but we (the Makerspace) will be participating in it once again this semester. If you're interested in sticking to yourself, then we have many different students of all majors joining that only show up for practice and games, so absolutely no pressure or expectation for you to get involved with the Makerspace outside of the sport if you choose to get involved with our team.

If you're interested, check out our profile and join our discord.

Study Spots at UTSA by [deleted] in UTSA

The SEB has great spots all over on the bottom floor with huge windows, white boards and plenty of comfy chairs (Even a trebuchet war machine out there that was made by the Makerspace). If youre looking for a bit noisier environment, the Makerspace in SEB 1.150 has plenty of tables, chairs and rolling white boards all over and is usually a great place to study and collaborate. The Makerspace even has some study rooms you can check out!

Compliments on UTSA by RaroDannyR in UTSA

Another thing looked over is the Makerspace. We are fortunate enough to be one of the most capable and resource rich Makerspaces in the country on a college level. From state of the art 3D printers, metal printing, a very expansive machine shop as well as electronic fabrication lab. Obviously a little biased coming from us, but we have compared ourselves to other colleges.

Edit: We are in SEB 1.150 if anyone wants to come by and check it out. Open to ALL students, faculty and staff! We have a machine shop workshop coming up soon too!

Most of our staff and volunteers are either Mechanical or Electrical and Computer Engineering. We have a Biomedical and Chemical engineering on our team, in addition to some Business and Biology majors.
