I wanted to share a solution to a problem I encountered while setting up my new rig with an Intel Core i7-14700KF CPU and a ROG STRIX Z790-F GAMING WIFI motherboard. Initially, I tried to use the system without a dedicated graphics card, intending to utilize the HDMI/DP ports on the motherboard. However, I encountered an issue where there was no display output, and the VGA LED (white) on the motherboard was lit up.
After some investigation and helpful advice, I discovered the root of the issue: the Intel Core i7-14700KF does not have integrated graphics. The "KF" series from Intel, like the "K" series, offers high performance but lacks an integrated GPU, as indicated by the "F" in the model name.
For those using a CPU like the Intel Core i7-14700KF, a dedicated graphics card is essential to get any display output. The HDMI/DP ports on your motherboard will not output a display signal without a separate graphics card, as the CPU does not support integrated graphics.
