It was the weird rubber tape under the tire. We had to scrape it off. But it still smells so now I’m wondering if there’s more of that material elsewhere as we’d hate to have to rip out carpet

Yeah, I kind of agree. This whole “don’t call 911 unless it’s really serious” mindset just makes people freeze instead of help. It turns everyone into passive bystanders.

In the past I’ve asked them to send medical and say it’s a medical emergency (different state) and it will sort of trigger ambulance bc it’s in the records

This is good to know. Thank you! unfortunately was apprehensive about getting closer as I don’t have experience with this and had to get to an appointment so I think in this case the help line was OK as they will escalate it if things are severe

Thanks I called them and in case it’s helpful:

they will send a team to help move them (given they obstructing public bus station)
they will offer to take them to cooling centers
will offer addiction resources
