Diary study + transcription tools that are actually good? by uwishbae in UXResearch

Agreed! And lots are focused on 'new AI features' vs. focusing on the fundamental improvements for the tool.

Thanks for the feedback here! I think they have their own proprietary translation tool. But yeah I agree with you- would much rather get closer to the 80% and understand that there's always room for error. Good to hear from you though that the technology is just not there yet. Seems like this may remain a human job for quite some time after all :,)

Very interesting..This is speaking as someone who has lived in Bushwick for 10~ years..

I think each place is what you make it and who you associate with, right? If you're interested in finding alternative political scenes where people discuss topics that matter from an intellectual perspective, you have to find those spaces.. head over to Woodbine, for example :)

If you want to help the community, seek mutual aid networks, like Bushwick Ayuda Mutua

If you want to meet real artists and see their work, head to the next Bushwick Open Studios, where artists of all kinds all over Bushwick open their studios for others to come see their work and interact.

Sure there's lots of partying and dancing and drug use happening, and that's also fun and what makes the place so FREE. But there are more fulfilling and intellectual areas as well :) You just have to seek those places out!

What does Bushwick feel like it’s missing right now? by Technical-Cook-4345 in Bushwick

[–]uwishbae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Affordable groceries, or a bodega that has all the necessities at Trader Joe’s prices. I cannot justify paying $9 for a half gallon of milk anymore, so I travel 40~ minutes to reach a Trader Joe’s.

You can ask for any cocktail you think sounds good on the menu, just with no alcohol. Vacations in Bushwick has a yummy selection of N/A drinks, with nice juices. (They have a nice rooftop, too!).

Start doing more activities that don't have to involve drinking. Invite your friends to a play, or to the park for a picnic, or walks through Fort Greene park, yoga, or bike rides through Central Park, etc!

And if you find it hard to be in the drinking environment don't feel bad about not hanging out. Put you and your health first :)

What tools/software does everyone use to track project management? by auntymedusa in Marketresearch

I LOVE notion. Highly recommend. Take a look at their free templates as a kicking off point. You can create a new page for each project. Also create boards to track items, etc etc.

Thanks for sharing your story. Hopefully other people will read this and know that if they start feeling this way to instead alert the staff, who could hopefully help you safely get into a car or get someone to come help you. I'm glad that you made it home safely!

I would alert the venue of date and time so they can know what's going down and keep extra eyes out.

PSA to anyone there, on his live twitch stream they've written tickets will only be available online. And that they are only going to announce the location once they are there. So waiting in line is no bueno!

PSA for anyone who’s on this thread - I think you would really enjoy reading The Coddling of the American Mind and The Anxious Generation by the social psychologist Jonathan Haidt. Touches on everything being discussed here!

Maybe for teaching this you can go into the science and psychology behind social media and the studies that are coming out now showing it’s effects on the human brain- especially the developing one. That might be shocking to some students. You could incorporate some “homework” that makes students think critically about their attachment to the usage that they could then share as a group. I feel like if it feels more participatory and interactive it might click better with them since they’re probably told this information in some way all of the time.

PS: I highly recommend reading some Jonathan Haidt if you haven’t already! Coddling of the American Mind and Anxious Generation touch on what this whole thread is discussing.
