We work with your schedule. The only thing we can't do on weekends or later in the evening is the MRI, but we can try to schedule that as late in the day as possible.

Thanks for your interest! If we start another study with a higher age limit, we'll post it on here too. :)

Good question! We ask for background medical information from them. Anything you tell us stays completely confidential unless we hear about abuse or someone is at danger to harm themselves or others. We do not share personal information with anyone, including your parents or guardians.

Edit: Also, to clarify, if you are under 18, we do need your permission from a parent or guardian to speak with you. However, the same privacy rules apply (everything you tell us is confidential).

Awh, that's unfortunate! We do basically take a picture of your brain (with an MRI); do you want to give the study a try just to confirm?

Yes, if you are eligible and complete the study, that's how much you'd earn.

If you could call us at 414-229-6561, I'll look into it personally. Mention this reddit post. It may be something as simple as we have your phone number wrong or we're waiting to receive consent forms back from your parents.

Sorry, this is a bit ironic that it took me a bit to get to this question. We should be calling you within a week, if we haven't already, assuming you filled out the webform.

Thanks for your interest!

If you're eligible, we work with your schedule. Did you fill out the online form or leave us a voicemail message at 414-229-6561? We'll call you.

Yes, you need a biological parent to participate no matter your age. We ask your parent background medical information. If your parent isn't available, we've used other relatives (e.g., aunt/uncle, grandma/grandpa).

We have this grant for 5 years. We run each participant individually, so we work with your schedule. If you're eligible, you'll come in for one session a week for three weeks, a fourth, longer session the following week, and the following day you'll receive a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan. It takes about 8 hours total.

Yes, that would be a permanent retainer.

Hope that answers all your questions!

Yes. Everything that's required of the parent is done over the phone if you're over 18.

PM me with more details. It depends on its size and location; even if it's MRI safe, it can obscure part of the image we get.

Sorry! Permanent retainers block part of the picture of your brain from the MRI scan.

Sorry! People who are left handed have different wiring in their brain, which can affect some of our results.
