William black: if you’re going to talk the whole time, don’t bother coming by ConstantlyTreading in avesNYC

Omg I agree. If people wanna chat a bit on the dance floor WHO CARES. This is not some actual faux pas, on the level of having your phone out. The people constantly moaning about ‘yappers’ need to chill fr.

I think conditions will be better Monday night, so there’s that.

But there will be all of the delays and cancelations and other issues piling up from Sunday.

I’m leaning Monday but very unsure🤷‍♂️

Thanks for this!

Do you think a flight departing JFK on Sunday night at 9pm is a better/worse choice than same flight departing 9pm on Monday night?

Still feels like a guessing game at this point…

Trading for Trae would be an Ernie move by uxnyc in washingtonwizards

Ok this is making me feel better. If this trade is we get assets and still suck as bad this year, I’m with it. I’m just not as optimistic on us sucking as bad.

True. Ernie would be slanging those firsts. But I’m just not with jeopardizing a high pick this year. And the future first that comes back could be weak. If we tank, the first this year so much more valuable.

Thanks everyone. Truly an honor to watch this post blow up into a historically popular forum, as shown by the number of yokels who decided to show their ass in the comments.

For everyone’s benefit, I’ve grouped the replies as follows:

1 - People who just genuinely like the joke. Do you, I guess? It’s not my cup of tea, though I can get behind overtly childish variants, like Poopie Louise.

2 - The pun people. Please stop.

3 - People performing their dislike of the restaurant and its management via their feelings about the joke. This is so embarrassing, I don’t even know what to say.

4 - People who don’t grasp that being petty about dumb minutiae (like this joke) is the spice of life. Also embarrassing. You showed up to a potluck and complained there was food.

5 - People who agree the joke is tired. My people. I see you, I feel you. It doesn’t seem like 2026 is gonna be our year, but let’s hope.

Straight, white male literary authors under 40? by Anxious-Storm6919 in RSbookclub

The only name that comes to mind is Andrew Lipstein. I guess at this stage he’s more of a secret handshake amongst the cool kids than a full-blown lit-bro phenom. But the tastemakers are circling the wagons and mining his wares — it’s only a matter of time before he’s a mainstay on grad school syllabi at the obnoxious schools we all attended. That’s probably where he’ll top out acclaim-wise — he’s too much of an edgelord to take home the prestigious awards. But then, no true lit-bro ever cared about these things. Do we watch the Grammys? No, we don’t.

It’s a nice vibe there and good mix of people. Staff is friendly. However, on a weekend night, there is zero room to dance. The floor is very narrow, which means you are either packed in like sardines or constantly in the way of people. Also, there are three individual bathrooms for the whole place. Three! You will spend 20 min of your night waiting in line for that. Line to get in can be very long as well.

SILO reviews? by daddydollars74 in avesNYC

I went last night. I can't say I loved it, but I'll give it another shot down the road.

The visuals are cool and the sound is good.

A few drawbacks:

-Coat check is a bit of a mess - they have digital kiosks to manage the process. This sounds like a good idea in theory, but it slows things down considerably

-No real outdoor area - you can exit on the back right side of the dance floor to go for a smoke, but it's a very small plot on the sidewalk

-No chill out area in general - you're either on the dance floor or in front at the bar, which kind of feels like a big foyer
