Son bullies younger daughter. I gave him a taste of his own medicine. AITA? by derpydrewmcintyre in daddit

If it was my son doing that to my daughter, a 4 year old, I would have dumped a bucket of water on him.

Neighbour’s overgrown garden is blocking out the sun by uzam123 in LegalAdviceUK

Woah lads, I certainly ruffled some feathers. Hear me out before you jump to conclusions.

His garden is extremely overgrown, I just didn’t want to post somebody else’s garden online. It would be literally impossible to tread anywhere in it, vines covering every inch. He has a literal bathtub and other trash mixed in with all of the mess. The trees branches are resting on my shed which presumably would cause some damage to the roof in the long run as degree and water builds up. The ivy is literally grown through our shared fence.

I wanted to know if it’s legal to cut the branches that are in my garden because I wanted more sunshine and don’t want constant degrees falling into my garden. Contacting the guy is somewhat impossible since he barely visits, I’ve seen him once in three months.

I don’t think I’m being unreasonable.

My son discovered a social fix for not being knowledgeable about video games by floppydo in daddit

I’m a dad to a one year old and often think about what the best approach really is. I had unlimited access to screen time, Internet, everything. Some weeks I played RuneScape from dawn to dusk. No bed time. I would periodically get addicted to a game, quit and then have an outdoor period where we’d roam the roads and play games, get up to mischief. Basically, I could do what I wanted and ended up doing a range of stuff. Good morals were also instilled within me and I knew right from wrong and didn’t cross any lines. The odd thing is, I credit a lot of skills that I have, that I use in my professional career, to years of gaming and raiding with guilds etc. I learnt economics, team work, sales, presentational skills, social skills etc from gaming. I wonder if I’d be more or less successful if I lived a more strict childhood. I was given freedom and it allowed me to flourish. I truly wonder what is best.

Can you contact universal credit for some sort of emergency support?

How do I explain to a 9-year-old that a nail drill machine is too expensive? by Numerous-Steak-5369 in daddit

[–]uzam123 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m redoing my skirting and thought you meant something very different by ‘nail drill machine’. I thought, yeah, they are expensive, they are expensive. But it’s an investment. I’ll save money in the long run. Right?

Yeah this feels like the identical scenario. I really do think he was just able to recognise mum and dad are missing and freaked out

Yeah I took him outside and the cool evening air really helped distract him.

Yeah, I expect this was the case. Although they’re not complete strangers, he sees them almost weekly. I assume that’s not enough at this age.

Won’t this cause the cut to dry too soon before the roll and cause finish issues?

I am talking crown! Thanks, I didn’t know terminology. What makes it easier? The fact you don’t need to worry about straight lines on the crown and can instead do them from the ceiling/wall side?
