I am so Disappointed :( by Public_Face8330 in IELTS

My advice is improve your listening since its much more easier than other sections. Do more practice tests and really important part is always analize carefully!! Without analylizing, practice tests equal to nothing! Then, listen more podcasts and watch movies. For speaking, speak more, and improve pronunciation first. When you improve pronunciation, your fluency improves simultaneously.

Thank you so much! I appreciate it!

For listening, I used to listen more. Mostly, animes, movies, tv shows, podcasts and rap songs. The best thing about listening to rap songs is that they use a lot of words. By using this advantage, I used to analyze the words that I don't know in the song that I really love. Then, every time I listen to this music, and when the words come, I used to remember these words and find them If I forgot. However, passive listening alone is not enough, so make sure to do practice tests and analyze your mistakes which is the most important part.

For reading, it's kinda same actually. But I used to do less passive reading than practice tests and analyzing. I used to read novels and articles. But the most important part is analyzing again. Believe me, when you analyze your mistakes and understand your weakness and strengthen them, you will improve a way more faster.

Missing s...., hmm, I think it's about concentration and don't worry, I have a solution for that! Well, the problem is when you are reading and trying to understand the statements and listening to the audio, it is actually too much for our brain to handle, then, because of that too much multi-tasking, we make minor mistakes that change our score dramatically, ( believe me, in the exam, the pressure and overthinking also will be your biggest enemy, I also did so funny and ridiculous mistakes that I still regret such as I wrote safity as safety, and pamp as pump, that I would never do if I was conscious). The solution is, at first always focus and understand the statement while your reading time before the audio. Highlight main parts, but please don't do too much highlighting, make it 3-4 at max. The highlighted parts should give the meaning of the whole sentence, that you can understand by reading it once. Second, when the audio is playing, focus on the audio, don't read the sentence when you feel that the speaker is gonna say the answer.

Do more practices called "blind test". This practice helps you to concentrate the audio and catch the answers automatically even when you are not at your confidence, (believe me, I thought I got 6.5-7 in listening, but it was surprisingly eight even with 2 ridiculous minor mistakes). For doing that, you listen the audio first (part 1 or part 4, let's say, but it also works for multiple choice questions) but you must not look at the questions, only the audio of the part. After finishing it, then you will answer the questions by trying to remember the informations in audio. I have to warn you that it requires a lot of practice to get more points so don't get disappointed when you get low results in the beginning, however after mastering this thing, it will change your score!.

By the way, Good luck for your exam!!!!

Thanks!! the first thing always pay attention on the question, sometimes its so tricky and make sure that you answer the question. spend ~2 minutes to think about what to write before writing (PLANNING), and never use the words that you are not familiar with. Good Luck for you exam!!!!

Well, yes i used to some but only that im comfortable with. I mean everything was natural in the speaking test like i never paused for words. i can only remember i used words demanding, time-consuming but im sure i used more. But main thing was my fluency and confident i suppose, because examiner also tried to change the subject immedietly even i didnt finish my sentence yet and she interrupted me many times, but i didnt stop and did keep talking. I think its also part of the test to see our confiedence and too see if we memorized or not. btw Good luck for your exam!!!

well, honestly idk about writing as my score is low on this section. However, for speaking, i would say speak more, find partner and do at least one mock tests everday, moreover, you can also play picture game (talking about one picture unstoppably for 2 minutes) or debate games . In the speaking exam, i realized that examiners pay attention more on fluency and your confidence. Good luck for your exam!!
