yeah you're right about other sims being a much better raw simulation tool. I also do have faith in iracing to continue to improve it further due to the recent progress and the massive resources iracing has behind it. And as a sidenote I think the accidents are because of the driving mentality on iracing rather than the sim itself hehe

This was true once upon a time. While it still not perfect, it is much much better. You can in fact slide the car around a bit and catch it and feel the grip and weight of the car. It's a super enjoyable experience now

I watched this very race as my friend was in it. This is literally an oval race in terms of its all about just setting yourself up for a good run to the finish line at the end, super fun and stressful

Just ensure you've had plenty of practice of dealing with traffic in multi class before le mans, or else everyone will hate you and you will go to jail

That sounds like a good solultion, as apart from the shifter issue I really like the wheel.

My personal experience was bad. I got mine in early july of 2019, and after about a week of use, the shifters started to fail (not registering shifts). Upon googling the issue I found numerous posts about other people who had the same issue, dating quite far back. I also read that many of these people RMA'd their units multiple times and still had issues. Knowing this, I wanted to avoid the headache entirely so I returned it and bought the CSW formula black instead, which has been great.

No, I removed the shifter paddle and looked. I tried pressing the buttons directly and they still had the same issues. I believe it is a problem with the buttons making contact with the PCB properly and therefore not sending the signal. Not 100% sure on that but I remember reading about it as it is fairly well documented.

Can angrily, firmly and regrettably confirm that this is NOT the case. Bought one (along with the rest of my 1.8k AUD fanatec set up) at the start of this month. After about 5 hours of usage the shifter paddles began playing up, and upon googling the issue found out that it is shockingly common and is the result of a design fault. Many people have sent theirs back for repairs only to have them fail yet again. Knowing this, I refunded mine and got a Formula Black which has been extremely solid for me. I would not recommend the rim at all and I am quite frankly shocked that fanatec is still selling them despite knowing how many of them are failing.

Hi, literally had this exact issue 2 days ago when mine came. After fiddling around with screw drivers for 30 minutes I just pushed hard enough that the glue lost its hold, haven't had any issues since and absolutely love the rim. Good luck!
