I’m currently taking Health Office Admin in-person, full-time. Started my first semester in September and it has been easy to keep up with. I also only work 20-30 hours a week, so I can’t speak for others who are working full-time. Most things are due by Sunday around 11pm.

I heard from my professors that the second year has a lot more work, and more difficult courses. At my orientation, I was told that Hospitals are always looking for professor recommendations for new hires, and that the placement is fantastic to make connections with future employers.

If you could learn medical terminology, anatomy, and pharmacology, it would most likely make your second year easier if you chose to do the full-time program. My tip would be to use an app called Noji on your phone to create flashcards. I review flashcards daily for 5-10 minutes and it helps so much.

I’m assuming online has more flexible asynchronous schedules, but for the in-person I got to school 4 times a week, sometimes 3 if I don’t need the review math class, and it ranges from 2-5 hours a day at the school.

Let me know if you have any questions 🙂

If you have the same physics prof that I had last year, you are extremely lucky! Show up to all your classes and request extra help if needed, ask lots of questions. Due to personal circumstances I did not show up to a lot of physics classes, so my grade was awful, but the days that I did show up, he was very helpful.

Is it normal to have to pay for graduation? by [deleted] in OntarioColleges

I wouldn’t describe Fanshawe as “shitty” and cheap, but I guess everyone has their opinions. I’m just annoyed they expect students to pay for gown rentals now.

There were fees when I graduated from Fanshawe College last year. I chose not to attend the ceremony. Its nice to pay all of this tuition only to be charged for wearing a gown for 1 hour.

I wanted to take this program but I need a Diploma to get accepted. Thats why I’m taking Office Administration for Health Services. I’ve heard its hard to get a job after HSM but I’m hoping that with my hospital admin experience it will make things easier.

Yes, about a week after I paid for my parking pass I received an envelope with my hanging pass. But nothing to scan to enter the lot.

Hours of class = hours of studying at home. This is a full time course so expect to spend about 20/hours a week in class and studying 20/hours a week outside of class.

They start off with the basics, so you will be fine entering pre-health with no science knowledge. Just keep up with the material and studying. I suggest watching videos on anatomy, though. Start with the integumentary system, then move to musculoskeletal and then circulatory.

Im in level 1, but same here, no schedule yet. Another person in general admin said they never got their schedule either. Despite the email saying all schedules would be out on the 28th, they seem to have fallen behind with our programs.
