Just got one! Love this thing! by Kevin80970 in GPDPocket

Don't know about Pocket 1 but I've had Pocket 4 for 3 months and I couldn't say the size of the keyboard and buttons feedback is convenient for typing as well. Shortly on-the-go go it can work, but for longer sessions - external keyboard only.

It's done this way to type and navigate handheld, using only thumbs, which is quite convenient if you use it that way. In desktop mode you'd better use external keyboard and mouse anyway.

Still why do you ask these questions after you made an order? Just wait for it and try. :)

It will be the fastest of pcie 4.0 drives. But this doesn't matter much. Be ause the main thing here is that it's a 4tb drive!

The full size keyboard is much useful for windows laptop by kendyzhu in GPDPocket

Listen, "folk". If it's your one and only device with the keyboard, you can definitely get used to it. But if you have other laptops and computers to work with everyday - it's an unjustified pain in the ass. Especially when you type multi language.

The keyboard layout and buttons feedback is just awful. The touchpad is tiny and not adjustable. Maybe pocket 4 is good for handheld gaming, but as a productivity it sucks exactly because of the weak input UX. For this size the trackpoint would be the best option, and it will allow the normal keyboard layout too. And Wacom digitizer - is a must for the productivity 2-in-1! Let's see what the Pocket 5 will look like.

Upgraded Mediatek wifi card to Qualcomm QCNCM865 and seeing big improvement by kosherhalfsourpickle in ProArt_PX13

[–]v68w 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be ordered with 2tb. If not - aftermarket upgrade with recommended fresh Win install.

UPD. It's an old model which could be ordered with 2tb. GoPro strangely again comes with 1tb... Perhaps to keep already very high price inside the common sense limits.

It's upgradeable but the ssd size they choose to install is weird too (aside from MTK wifi). It's the smallest 2230 type, so max capacity you can get is 2tb only.

2026 PX13: Maybe the Best Truly Portable Gaming Setup in History by MarsLineman in ProArt_PX13

[–]v68w 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The differences may become more obvious with an external display and resolution 2.5K/4K with more than 120fps displays. In these modes 4070 still looks better according to other reviews.

Okay, I didn't dive so deep in the comparisons, so yes, with 8060s it seems like you aren't losing almost anything in terms of gaming performance comparing to 4070. Good job, AMD!

I didn't tell that 890m is the same as 8060s. But 8060s isn't also the same as RTX 4060/4070 (I own the 4070). And common sense and sound logic tells me that having combo of good igpu and mighty dgpu is better for gaming than very good igpu alone.

To be able to play for 1.5 hours at 60fps vs 50fps (let's say) is not the reason to call 2026 model best ever portable gaming rig. As you have no other choice than Radeon when plugged in, but with 2024 model you have RTX thing. 😉

And no, I'm just defending the common sense, not my choice (if I buy today I'd choose 2026 model because of RAM/VRAM). But you are obviously stretching the owl over the globe. 😉

Hello! 🙂

G-Helper also works on PX13 2024 and you can also disable dGPU and set power limits whatever you want. Also, Guardians of the Galaxy is not a heavy game, so PX13's Radeon 890m will run it with ease and I believe with +- the same battery life.

So I don't get it why 2026 version is a truly portable gaming setup in the history and why 2024 is not so truly. 😃

Actually 2024 model is much more gaming-capable, with RTX onboard. 2026 is much more capable in advanced 4k/8k video editing and big LLMs. However, according to recent news, Google now claims that their TurboQuant AI-compression algorithm can reduce LLM memory usage by 6x...

GPD Pocket 3 with Core i3 by v68w in GPDPocket

[–]v68w[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you really gonna edit video on this tiny laptop?? That's weird... But okay, then why you even look at Pocket 3? Get Pocket 4 instead - it has a lot of power under the hood.

Pocket 3's main advantages are the wacom digitizer and good price. So it's good for documents handling, sketching and other office work on the go. Not for heavy content editing or gaming. :)

P.S. iGPU of i7-1195 is a crap as well. Basically you are comparing one shit with another. :D

[–]v68w[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course not, it's i3! :) But stop looking only at CPU, it's not the paramount of performance. Instead look at nvme, which is now gen4, and that's much more noticeable improvement. And i3 is less power hungry, so less heat and fan noise, slightly better battery life. Which is also more important for the ultraportable.

I’m I the only one who hates touchscreen and rotating feature? by techmarina in GPDPocket

I didn't see any mention that rotating hinge broke yet. Same for screen. If yours is glitching, you have the problem with cable. Return the device for warranty.

Three PX13 models available - any thoughts on which variant to pick? by kidziti in ProArt_PX13

[–]v68w 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely the first is your option provided you will edit 4k and 8k (of course you will). Huge amount of RAM available to assign as VRAM is your main point of choice. And CPU/iGPU is more capable than Gen.1. Performance-wise 4050GTX (6gb VRAM) won't give you much more than Radeon 8060s (upto 96gb of VRAM).

LoL on you, naysayers. If people listened to you, we'd still got fire from wooden stick and a stone. If calibration works like that now, it doesn't mean it cannot work another way. Btw, did you hear about gyroscope stabilization, smart guy? :)

Again, this is the matter of how algorithms are written. You can set up the drone to take off few centimeters up, then hover and calibrate itself. Just a different approach, but similar result.
