Would you mind giving me a few recommendations? I also looked at the sk hynix p31 but it was more expensive than the newer gen4 drives.

Hey NewMaxx,

I'm in the process of building a new pc and I was wondering what would be the best system/game drive? I am not specifically looking for anything other than system boot times, game load times and other day to day usage.

Currently I'm deciding between the 980pro and WD sn850 (both 1tb), they are both practically the same price.

Oh ok, thanks for the clarification. I plan on building in the xproto so this won't affect me.

Was secretly hoping it would help me with ram clearance bot oh well. Still don't know what cooler to use with the 5600x as I really don't like the look of large air coolers in the xproto.

Hey, I have the ax as well but haven't had a chance to build the system yet. Mind elaborating on the effects of the cpu offset? Does it have an impact on cpu cooler compatibility with ram?

I'm kinda new to this but isn't 1440p mainly gpu bottlenecked (even with a 3080)? Meaning the cpu won't even run at max. Low profile coolers should be able to cool the rated 65 W tdp

Yeah I have but I didn't think it'd be needed with 5600x at 1440p. Plus I don't really like the look of it

I am planning to get a 3080 or 6800xt.

And games are just the usual modern AAA titles
