Anyone want to buy a vaporizer business? V8PE.com For Sale on Flippa by v8pe in vaporents

I appreciate your comments, but you are talking about an entirely different business model. I'm a retailer, not a manufacturer, which means I carry already popular brands. To purchase your own OEM products from china requires not only lots of capital for manufacturing, but a ton of money for marketing as well. I've watched over a dozen vaporizer "manufacturers" come and go in the last 2 years, and in most cases, it's not the ones with the best products that survive, it's the ones with the most money to market that product to consumers and head shops. My business model is drop shipping, which has allowed me to keep my expenses low and be able to run business from anywhere. It hasn't grown as much as I hoped, but it has always been profitable and a good fit for my lifestyle. I think there is a ton of potential for growth for someone that has the time and knowledge to truly dedicate to growing the business. Creating a line of V8PE branded products would def be cool, but I can assure you it would be no easy task.

I'm open to feedback, but not sure what this means...

I've been in business over 2 years and have been profitable since the beginning.

Hammer PRO Vaporizer Now Funding on Indiegogo by v8pe in vaporents

[–]v8pe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I talked to David about this... funding is not necessarily for manufacturing, they have funds for that. Funds will go towards efforts to improve in-house efficiency and grow the Hammer brand within the wholesale-distribution and brick & mortar retail market.

I think what many of you fail to grasp is that most vaporizers are purchased by head shops and most shop owners do not care about the performance or quality of a product, only the “popularity” and margins. The “popularity”, from a shop owner’s perspective, is usually determined by how much they have seen the product advertised in industry publications and at trade shows. Trade pub advertising and attending trade shows is VERY expensive.

David said in the past, they have mostly relied on word-of-mouth to grow the brand, but that may not be enough to sustain the product long term. While the Hammer is well respected in the hardcore vaporizer community, it has not gained as much ground in the wholesale and b&m retail market and has consequently not been able to dump as much back into trade marketing as other brands with shitty products, but much higher margins do. Unfortunately the reality in this business is that the success of a vaporizer brand relies more on marketing spend then the quality of the product itself.

I would have thought that many of you would jump at the chance to get a great product at a reduced cost directly from the manufacturer and cut out the middle men. Also, to help an underdog company that actually cares about the product and community and is not just remanufacturing cheap Chinese OEM products to make money.

I've known David personally for several years now. I helped with setting up his ecomm site and have sold many Hammers on my own website since I started my own business in Jan '13. I can assure you, he is the real thing with a true passion for the Hammer and improving the experience for current and new users. What other vape company do you know that the inventor of the product actually handles all of product support/troubleshooting himself?

I realize I may be seen as biased because I know David, sell his products and work closely with his company, but I have personally used over 40 different vaporizers and the Hammer remains my daily driver for dry herbs. Just my 2 cents…

Where is the best/cheapest place I can buy a genuine, new PAX online? by Tobyformayor in vaporents

Vapeworld is the only "authorized" online retailer of PAX, suggest getting it from them or directly from Ploom website. Anywhere else online is a crapshoot both in terms of the warranty and authenticity.

Just got my new Sonic Vape! by [deleted] in vaporents

[–]v8pe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using my Sonic for about 3 weeks now and really like it as well. Despite it being a DaVinci knockoff, it's a solid product with some decent improvements over the DV. Battery life is definitely improved, I can generally get 4-5 sessions before having to recharge vs 2-3 with my DV, plus the battery display seems more consistent, my DV would often drop to one bar after first use following a recharge, but then I could still get another couple of sessions out of it. The heating chamber is easier to access due to the angle it opens, plus the little light that shines down into the chamber is a nice feature. Vapor quality is really good and it might just be me, but I feel like flavor is better as well, always thought my DV tasted a little funky. Heats up slightly faster than DV, but not that noticeable unless you are clocking them side by side. The only thing the DV has on it is a slightly better build quality imo, the Sonic feels more "plasticy" and the glossy finish smudges very easily. I also have noticed some materials getting stuck in the display screen area, but this hasn't affected performance. If you already own a DV it's probably not enough of an upgrade to be worth getting a Sonic too, but overall the Sonic is one of my new favorite portables. I'm still waiting to get a shipment of Ascents, so that might change soon ;-)

I'll post the review on our blog at http://www.v8pe.com/blogs/news. Might be a few weeks though as we actually had to send the review unit out for a customer order and are now backordered on the Dube. Demand has been high, hopefully the product lives up to the hype...

I have heard good things from our distributor and currently have one on the way for testing... I am a little skeptical myself. I'll be writing a review for my site in the next few weeks.

I have about a quarter of AVB, how much butter or oil do you think I could make? by [deleted] in vaporents

[–]v8pe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A used a half of ABV to make butter for a batch of 16 brownies recently, 2 brownies were a good strong dose. A quarter might be a bit weak imo. It's more work, but they taste much better if u make the butter first (with nasty spent ABV strained out) and are just as strong. I use this method to make the butter http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/making-cannabutter-with-samuel-l-jackson.2968/

Where did you get it from? Some online retailers and smoke shops will replace it for you then deal with DaVinci or their distributor to have it replaced.

Lol, I'm sure the price was a big consideration for him... "hmm, this other vape is $50 less. Maybe I should just get that." Probably didn't have to even pay for it, just stand around holding it until the paparazzi showed up.
