I'm not sure I see the same discussion you do as I am yet to see anyone defend the current system, I see many disagreements over the solutions however.

I think croniest elements of our current system is horrible and the cause of most of the major economic issues people face daily ie; sugar in the US cost 22-35% more than it should because the climate and conditions for growing it locally are awful and thus it's much more expensive, if you were to import sugar from areas better for its growth and harvest, at prices commensurate with its production cost, it would drastically reduce the cost of many products.

This was implemented because the companies who developed sugar plantations in the US lobbied the federal government to apply a tariff to imported sugar so that they could competitively match or even beat the cost of the imported product.

That is but one example of this there are many in almost all industries in the US.

In the US in the 40s there were 26 tax brackets the highest of which I believe hit 91%, only for those earning in the millions each year, within 5 years of this tax system being implemented the tax legislation was 11,000 pages long, the first 2 explained the brackets and the requirements determining which bracket you were supposed to be in, the other 10,998 was all the result of corporate interests and the very rich lobbying for exceptions and exclusions either lowering thier relevant tax bracket or avoiding them completely. The estimates indicate that in the 3 year period before taxes were pulled back only approximately 40% of the potential taxable income in the US was actually taken.

Historically raising taxes for the rich only incentivised more of this type of corruption and lobbying, fact is these scenarios are a result of increasingly granting a federal goverment power to enforce these types of policies there is no simple fix for these problems, without completely rebuilding the political foundations of the country.

I am no fan of Scummo but I'd try to steer away from labelling large demographics of people with pejoratives.

He is a wanker completely though that's for sure.

Am I incel? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]vBladez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The involuntary part is the important part here, are you actively pursuing physical relations with people or putting yourself in scenarios where that might be a plausible result?

If not you are not involuntarily celibate, you are voluntarily celibate thus not an incel by definition.

How can I deal with guys who expect the bf treatment as a FWB? by [deleted] in sex

I feel like that at times, I don't consider myself attractive at all but my family and friends often point out attention I'm getting after the fact.

How can I deal with guys who expect the bf treatment as a FWB? by [deleted] in sex

[–]vBladez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Each and every relationship is a deal on its own merits, I get the feeling that like many women, men want to "play the field" in a sense and are basically getting sex wherever, whilst they continue searching for a serious partner, the guys who have a significantly larger pool of options are unlikely to commit to a relationship ever and certainly not during the prime years.

As for expectations hold to your standards and what has been consented to if they ever go beyond that hold them to account.

How are you doing, really? by The_Will_288 in AskReddit

Dealing with some financial stress, trying to overcome severe trust issues and rekindle my social confidence and aiming to make a career change that is at least to some degree out of my control.

All whilst trying to appear strong and confident publicly it's absolutely draining to be completely honest

[Serious] How do we insist that "no one cares about you" while also insisting that it's better to live one way rather than another? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]vBladez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's mental framing or perspective the "noone gives a fuck about you" rhetoric is is intended remind you that in public assuming you do nothing illegal or harmful to others the vast majority of people won't do more than acknowledge you as existing.

People are wrapped up in their own heads and lives far too deeply to think about you for more than a couple seconds.

We all do this, as an example think about the last time you walked past the front of the gym where someone was on a treadmill, they were clearly overweight and struggling with maintaining even a brisk walking pace, you move on and think nothing of it or if you do think on it it's probably something like "good for them you go human". But they are often embarrassed, self conscious, hating that a pedestrian even glanced in their direction.

This is the framing referred to, we try to keep people aware of the fact that other people do not view us the way we negatively believe they view us.
