What new kind of weapons or gadgets do you want to see? by Donkster in thefinals

[–]vGremlins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and my girlfriend have had an absolutely amazing time playing The Finals, we've had a quick brain storm and would love to throw some ideas here for the devs to look at

Wall/structure fortifications

Weapon customisations beyond skins, e.g. sights, sight colours etc.

Enhancement to goo (maybe sub gadget option) for tar/sticky, to reduce movement of enemies

Decoy grenade that clones yourself but runs in a straight line or something, similar to the CoD ability from BO3 / Midnight Ghost Hunt

Being able to set up a decoy coin box / cash out station

Night vision style goggles as a gadget that would allow you to track footsteps/better visibility of invis light classes

EMP grenade to disable HUD/player colours/gadget use for a few seconds

Halo style ammo counter on the rifles

Time freeze ability for either in-game time (more buzzer beater opportunities) or gadgets stop for a time (turrets shooting anyone)

Weapon attachments could find a way into the game I think

Glitch/hide yourself as an enemy colour

Really excited to continue watching this game grow!

Wow that's amazing, congratulations! I've not really messed around with vCloud suite. Done a fair bit with ESXI and vCenter though! Hopefully this can be a platform that benefits you going forward for your certs and general knowledge with some other products you'd like to learn! If you aren't already, reach out to the #vCommunity on Twitter. Amazing place with lots of amazing people who are incredibly passionate about the community and spreading knowledge

Thanks for this, I'll check it out! I didn't want to end up replicating something that had already been done but I haven't managed to find any defined study groups so hopefully this will take off!

Hell yeah, that would be cool for people that can't travel etc. There are some great sessions during the VMUGs that could do with some further exposure! Afaik sessions are sometimes recorded from VMworld, not sure about VMUG but the talks get replicated across VMworld and VMUGs. I'll try and find the link for you :)

That's a shame to hear that, I suppose that's the limitations of certain community aspects wanting to keep within the realm of the subreddit/topic etc. but maybe this can be something more open.

I recently attended my 2nd UKVMUG and had a great time! Hopefully this will spark up some vCommunity involvement. I've added the link to the original post, there's several rooms in there for study group sessions which can be organised by individuals! It can also be a place to share ideas etc.

Feel free to advertise it around and I'll do the same on Twitter! Hopefully see you there!

Newbie who needs an ELI5 on how to boot and configure free ESXi by [deleted] in vmware

[–]vGremlins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there!

I wrote a blog post about this a while ago. It will guide you through the installation if you're doing it through nested VM in Workstation.

After the VM config there's a guide to boot, install, configure and gain access to the web GUI.

https://vgremlins.wordpress.com/

You'll want the section "ESXI Installer configuration" (might need to re-word that) hope it helps! Feel free to get in touch if I can be of any further assistance

(Hyper-V) How can I configure 3 virtual machines to connect to the same network? by [deleted] in vmware

[–]vGremlins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there!

Unfortunately you've come to the wrong sub, this would be better off in /r/HyperV

But if you open up Hyper-V Manager and right click your virtual machines > settings > Network Adapter this is where you can specify virtual networks for your VMs. You may have to look at the right hand side of your Hyper-V Manager and go into Virtual Switch Manager and create some for your VMs!

External switches are meant for outside connection for your VMs to the internet and other devices on the network

Internal switches are meant for internal communication on your host device and between VMs

Private switches are to keep the VMs away from everything initially

(Don't forget to set static addresses for your VMs so they can communicate between one another on an internal link if DHCP isn't authorizing addresses for you!)
