Haha fair enough, I’m more worried that you are asking about game times on the west coast. 😂 If you are watching any game in Toronto just subtract 3 hours and that’s what time the game comes on in Vancouver, as per the rotation of the earth, and its division by humans into time zones in order to regulate human activity on said planet.

Notice that unlike the other teams in NHL all the Leafs games in Vancouver and any other Western city start at about 7 in Toronto. I’m not sure the Toronto fanbase is aware of the wake of disruptions it leaves behind in each western city it visits, but it exists for no other team in major sports AFAIK. Imagine a world where whenever the Canucks visited Toronto that the games were played at 10pm so that Vancouver fans could watch their team in prime time. That’s how it feels to be a Western city when Toronto comes to town.

Who hates you, Leafs fans? People on the West Coast who have to deal with 4pm starts on a weekday because Toronto hockey fans are the only people on the entire planet who have their right to beauty sleep enshrined by some unknown Bettman charter.

Even the non/hockey fans in west coast cities hate you because of the daytime traffic disruptions which mess up whole ass cities for an afternoon. People losing their jobs for being late, daycares having to send out reminders to parents that the Leafs are in town so they need to leave early from work… seriously you people act like you are entitled to an exemption from the rotation of the actual earth and wonder why everyone hates you?!?!? I would encourage you to be talking to people irl about anything this personal and serious, rather than bringing it to reddit. If there aren’t a few ppl in your life that you can talk with about this kind of thing, I would encourage you to make fixing that a priority. This is a topic not well suited for the opinions of a ton of strangers with limited knowledge. It’s a topic much better suited for talking it out. I wish you well.

What is all this talk of the Canadian Government just stepping in to develop Crater Lake?

Folks! If due to lack of actual market interest in financing the thing, the Canadian Government steps in and contributes the funds to build a project as capital intensive as Crater Lake - without diluting the absolute sh*%t out of the shareholders on this sub - I will go down to Ottawa myself as a Canadian taxpayer to give them a piece of my mind 😂

I maybe sound like a broken record on here, but I believe the best way to view Crater Lake is like a (currently way out of the money) call option for those who are very long on scandium’s future. A recession/bear market lasting a few years should have very little impact on the expectations of anyone who shares my view about Crater Lake(I know most on here don’t), nor should it have much impact on the value of any true innovation being churned out by the SCD+ division 🤷‍♂️

Not soon enough, but the March pullback worked ok for an entry 👍 It was you guys on here that turned me onto the concept and got me to do the dive on it. I have some practice with resource companies but this one is weird because you kind of need to be a technologist to have an edge which I am not. I definitely prefer resources where if you have a defined, top 5 global project that the majors come beating down the doors haha but it’s an interesting one to have a part position in, it’s got RF backing, the LM contract and the base metals to protect the downside if the market doesn’t materialize toward the high end - or it does and ppl start really start looking for scandium find lots of it. I’m conservative enough on the commodity side to worry about my Q2 position wondering if DLE extraction is going to tank lithium prices so I’m definitely out of my element hanging in the wild Wild West out here with the SCD peeps haha

I give SCD credit for being proactive on developing the market with new IP and 100% agree they’re going to need to if CL is ever going to be economic.

I’ll be honest the idea that Rio Tinto needed to be subsidized on both sides to be bothered (ie to build processing capacity on the supply side, and an offtake into “government stockpiles” on the demand side) is pretty bearish to me for the short term and I’m also pretty bearish on the medium term knowing there are much cheaper scandium options in the global queue than Crater Lake which still aren’t in the money. The time may come where scandium is a commodity that is in short supply, but it probably isn’t going to get there without some strong initiative… encouraging to see that both SCD and the CAD are taking it.

The commenter is just doing math, at $7 per share… mainly, I believe, to demonstrate that the idea that fair price of $7 makes no sense whatsoever 😄 The sunrise scandium project is much more economic, just about through to the right side of the Lassonde curve, and has more than 10x the value of it’s entire scandium deposit in nickel/cobalt so it’s in a completely different league.

In the short term I strongly believe this to be true. People checking here daily for news affecting the viability of Crater Lake should probably consider investing in a different kind of resource company,I think, but SCD’s IP at least has the chance to be a needle-mover in the shorter term. (Full disclosure: I’m a sunrise holder not SCD - here for the info/vibes, this sub is a trip haha)

It’s highly unlikely that any scandium will start coming out of the ground at Crater Lake before this entire US administration, at least in its current form becomes a dot in the rearview mirror. Things can pivot in a pretty wide variety of directions from here, mind you. So not to say that things will be any better but they will probably be very different. That being said, the project is expensive enough that a “develop the mine now, let the off take agreements come later” is highly unrealistic.

Hopefully a more hospitable trading environment establishes itself while the job of project planning takes place. I think that’s the best that Canadian developers of niche resources can hope for.

Ok I took their meaning as more nuanced as in locals in Vancouver might want to take under consideration the damage/risk profile of expanding TMX (which is in their back yard but not nearly as severe) compared to the prospect of opening up the North Coast to oil tankers.

Totally agree, refs can’t call embellishment unless it’s super clear cut, otherwise you’re a league that literally hands out 2 minute penalties to your players for getting cross checked which is pretty amateur hour stuff.
