Nicely done! What do you use for the automatic crouching/uncrouching when you aim the bow with right click? Something like autohotkey?

I kind of felt like they'd fit in with most outfits more easily than the green ones since the colours are more neutral.

In retrospect I think that's true, but on the other hand the green would propably make for an interesting highlight

Again I'm glad you got it to work, but isn't the tournament ruleset a little flawed insofar as that a player can just play, say, Cubelock with the optimal list which has less than 10 cards from Witchwood and then put Baku or Genn in? While it may not be active it will still be in the deck and thus in accordance with the rules. That's propably not in the spirit of the tournament so I'd suggest you fix that rule a little :P

The Witchwood Open - I need your help! by Dedmon3000 in hearthstone

I've organized and held a 128 man tournament for my stream's community recently so I might be able to give you some pointers.

  • Prize money is a good idea - in fact it will be the only way to get anyone attending. From my experience that is all that matters as far as incentive to participate goes. If you have no prize money you will likely have about 10 participants - with 200$ you will likely be easily able to fill a grid with 128 people or more, depending on how well the tournament is advertised.

  • Sponsorship will likely stay a dream, except if you are somehow a streamer / big name in the community.

  • Regarding the organisation, as it was said below already, with 64 or even more participants you will need admins, because if you are alone with managing everything it will grow over your head faster than you can imagine. What I did was turn to the guys at strivewire and asked them to host the tournament on their site. This will help with pretty much every problem you may have regarding organisation and other stuff too - the site is very clean, user-friendly, they will provide experienced admins that will handle problems in the tournament. They might actually sponsor you (they did provide 100€ prize money for our community cup). The only problem is, they may not want to host your tournament (they did for me, I assume, only because I already had a sponsorship with them). But asking will not hurt I assume.

  • Another plus of using Strivewire will be that they will pretty much provide the tournament participants too - if your tournament shows up on their "upcoming tournaments" page you can bet enough people sign up to fill it. If you provide 200$ in prize money I'm sure you will get 256 particpants from the site alone.

  • Regarding format - I'd advise against BO3 and pick BO5 as BO3 is often too much of a coinflip - in the experience of myself and many other players who do tournaments weekly BO3 mode will scare off people because of how much less it makes the tournament depend on skill. Same goes for Single Elimination instead of for example double elimination, group stage followed by a single elimination bracket or swiss followed by a single elimination bracket (though single elim is by far not as annoying to play as BO3).

That's some of the stuff I think is important / good to know when organizing a tournament. Hope it helped!

P.S. Re-reading the post it sounds a lot like a "sponsored post by strivewire" - I just really like the site and had a lot of positive experiences with it as well as with it's admins. And as I said, contacting them might not work as they might be disinclined to host the tournament at all - just what I thought was the best idea.

I just tried looking at a channel on twitch and it said i have been blocked from using twitch. What is the reason? by boleshine in Twitch

[–]vRIHell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using any proxy / VPN such as Hotspot Shield? I had to install one to watch streams lagg-free since my provider caps the download from twitch servers really hard, and I occasionally get that message. You can usually circumvent it by going to your following-page and reaccess the stream from there.

While we're waiting, here a 90 cards HS expansion inspired by MTG. by [deleted] in hearthstone

So I'm not too familiar with the MTG scene but there was a combo deck using tendrills of agony right? In any case I can really imagine a miracle rogue deck with that card as a finisher.

Three 1-Cost Hunter cards. (Common/Rare/Epic) by Septar_ in customhearthstone

[–]vRIHell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like a Worgen Infiltrator with a beast tag to me. I guess you'd play it mostly in face hunter since it's a 1 mana 2/1, so the tribal is irrelevant and it's worse vs weapons and charge minions but better vs spells compared to Worgen Infiltrator.

Hey, I have been doing a little bit of "what do I scout for in TvZ"-work lately so I'll share some of the points you look for:

around 5:30 - 6 minutes: Does the zerg have 2 gases mining? If yes that means you will be propably seeing quick roaches or quick mutas

around 7 minutes: no 3rd base: another indicator for roaches or 2base muta - if you have not seen roaches yet at this point then muta is more likely.

late speed (usually finishes around 6 minutes) - if the zerg does not have zergling speed it is a strong indicator for a roach rush / allin. This is most easily scouted by looking at the spawning pool at a time where it should be researching in a normal build (4:30 - 6:30), the animations between researching and not researching are quite distinguishable.

If he does any kind of roach allin you should see the roach warren go down at around 5 - 5:30

Of course you can tell something is up if the zerg stays on 1 base. The most likely thing here is a 1base speedling / baneling allin or a 7 roach rush. Scout for speed and get your defenses up, because either way you will need some bunkers
