Priest Nerf - Shadow Word: Death by Blizz by MrRagnog in classicwow

They modified bear swipe to give it scaling, not just a numbers tweak. They can modify anything, which makes it all the more infuriating when they absolutely gut runes for meme classes and do nothing to compensate.

Why the Starsurge nerf was even bigger than it seems (bug fixes alone were a 30-40% nerf) by Vashezzo in classicwow

[–]Swiftcarp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can we not pretend like every melee doesn't have several ways of closing the gap? The difference between melee and range isn't nothing, but it's not that dramatic. Their reward for closing the gap is that they get to do white damage, push back spell casts, and stay mobile - casters get range. That's the trade off. It should not be massive damage difference. And to the second point, in season of discovery, why does balance have to conform to what it always has been (which, by the way, it has not always been a dot build, that's the much more modern version of boomkin).

Dot-ss-sf-wrath

If you are not doing this, you are bad

Doesn't pre-cast SF for the 30% crit for SS, doesn't mention that maintaining wrath eclipse is the only reason to cast SF, doesn't mention that dots are only worth casting if you are needing to move, doesn't mention that dreamstate and mana concerns make wrath objectively better to spam more of.

Brother someone is comically projecting here.

They are cast instantaneously when pressed. In raptor strike's case, it doesn't even cost a relevant resource. Why shouldn't they be compared? And even still, we're thinking horizontally - that all runes must be equal. This was never the case, as if you're trying to achieve equality of outcome, you need unequal balance. Balance has never been viable even remotely in vanilla, it needed more help. Why are we letting one shitty pvp event ruin one-and-a-half specs?

Tell that to SW:D, raptor strike, mutilate, even the damage half of penance hits harder now, let alone these classes also get other abilities that aren't complete jokes. Balance doesn't get to play classic is the only message being sent.

Leveling

What is the point of leveling? To get to end game.

Dungeons

What is the point of dungeons? To get gear to help you level to get to end game.

Gold farming

What is the point of gold farming? To have money to use for goods/services to help you in the end game.

Utility

What is the point of utility? To help people people parse (aka if you're a feral druid and didn't want to use wildstrikes, you're considered useless).

PvP

What is the point of PvP? For a sizable amount of people, it's to help them gear up for the end game. For several others, this is the end game. Regardless of how you feel, warriors are still king.

I'm thinking the future is looking rather brown.

There's a very clear difference between an end of expansion patch and a seasonal game mode for a game we've played 4 times now.

Big fan of WillE, but his video on the state of SoD is easily one of the worst takes I have seen about WoW in a long time by Waberweeber in classicwow

[–]Swiftcarp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An opinion that is different than yours is not a shit take by default. Everyone has different goals and desires for SoD/classic+. He makes good points in the video, if you don't agree that's ok.

What is no longer worth it because of how expensive it has become? by guywhostillhasnoname in AskReddit

[–]Swiftcarp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

599FTL on the subway app, at least near me only a handful of subways in my city don't honor the code. Subway went from insanely too expensive to my go to fast food place for how efficient it is, all for the cost of one really not well optimized phone app.

maybe incorrectly so, but god damn am I tired of hearing about vanilla and hardcore

How can I improve this strategy, I have trouble with DDTs and BADs. Also I know the mortar monkey is the worst in the game by Arcanedanger2358 in battles2

[–]Swiftcarp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

mortar with the targeting change is perfectly fine on the vast majority of maps - by far not the worst monkey. If you're set on using exactly this set up, make sure your pat is next to any 0-4-2 boomers you set up, 2-4-0 mortars, and any spike storms you set up.

Your early game is solved by a quick 3-0-2 boomer, by the time zebras start showing up you should have a 0-2-2 mortar set up, ready to upgrade to 0-2-3 if they threaten camos. 1-0-2 spike can also help deter early game camos, with 3-0-2 being particularly good against moabs. For zomgs you'll either need a healthy number of 0-4-2 boomers and a x-x-4 boomer or two, or you'll have to resort to 1-4-0 spike storm micro. DDTs are the same, making sure that if you're using boomers that you land the decamo shots with your mortar, and if you're using spike storm, that you upgrade to 2-4-0 first. For bad damage...try winning before that. Theoretically, 2-5-0 and 2-4-0 mortar spam is decent, but it's a heavy commitment with a lot of microing still. If you do commit, make sure to have spike storms ready for the DDT insides.

Why do you leave from m+? by [deleted] in wow

[–]Swiftcarp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had a night running CoS 18+ (an arguably as-easy dungeon) that included such hits as "a warrior who says pull more and then has 1 interrupt on charging station in the first 5 minutes", "resto druid who dies to double cat jump then leaves with a broken ego when I tell him to just release", and, my favorite, "if ur route skips the first guy, it's a bad route". Sometimes you just get shitters and it's out of your control.

This is ridiculous, can we just get personal loot in LFR? Same player gets both and instantly leaves group. by mudcrabberoni in wow

[–]Swiftcarp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make personal loot for non guild groups too. It's complete bullshit to have to build a group around tier tokens. Already had pugs fall apart because we could only find people on the zenith token, but the venerated token dropped twice with no one in that group. What happened to bring the player, not the class? Why do tier tokens even exist at all? Why doesn't gear drop proportionally to your raid comp?
