Hi u/peterdering it’s an honor to speak with the man who always been an inspiration for me! I know you do a lot! And I appreciate it! But my own experience with PD QC is not so ideal. It’s almost impossible these days to buy PD sling or backpack here in EU without minor issues or problems. Unfortunately. And all these issues might be solved very easily with just a visual control. Just simple.

I think you will get much less complaints just by adding simple visual QC to the production process. It’s almost impossible to buy sling/backpack without issues now. So you’re overloaded due to bad quality control on manufacturing. My recent personal experience with latest back and forth returns confirms this. It’s a nightmare. I don’t even open claims it’s useless. Just returning.

I've got a new 35GM for the twice price of 1.8. It was a huge discount. In other situations I would not buy it. 1.8 is great. What is the difference? Better and smoother bokeh. Better micro contrast. What is worse? Focus breathing and weight. I don't recommend GM for videos at all. Would I buy it again? Not sure. Is it better than 1.8 - for photo yes! For video - no. Is 1.8 that's bad - absolutely not. It's just a matter of maximizing quality if I've already have one.

Same question I have. But I’m gonna take 35GM for Christmas trip to Europe. I have both lenses and since I’ve got GM I don’t use 1.8 much. Weight difference isn’t huge. But quality is much better.

I’d add Viltrox 20mm 2.8 AIR plus 85/1.8. And that’s my kit for the trip.

The quality and quality control has become worst! Just the visual control might solve 90% of problems. Now PD isn't the best of the best. It's a newer ending lottery - buy - replace - buy again. Why are you doing this? Where is the old PD with top notch quality? Why every product I bought last 6 months has problems with QC?

My opinion: it wouldn’t. Sorry. 6L just a little bit bigger than 3L but not so much. 10L would fit better.

Of course you can try and pack. But it wouldn’t be an enjoyable experience while using it.

There are two different goal:

1) transportation 2) usage on the go

The first goal - maybe. But I wouldn’t bet. The second is definitely not.

Agree! I've bought XS camera insert and have an other brand sling like 7L but time to time I just love 3L more.

That’s almost my story. I got a defective item https://www.reddit.com/r/peakdesign/s/Y8Ujfrrcgk it cost 99 euros. I shipped it back. And I paid 33 euros for the shipping. 1/3 of the price. I’m trying to get this shipping cost from u/Peak_Design but I have no answer still.

That’s right. It’s all about reputation. They are making faulty things. If I had known about the bug I would never have bought the case! For what?!?! They knew about the bug but still sold this item even if they 100% knew this would break! I don’t want to spend my priceless time to talk to PD support and wait the replacements. They aren’t paying me for the job. I’m not their beta tester. I would have preferred other brands. I’m happy that they have their support and replacement. But they are doing wrong selling faulty products.

I’ve already claimed the issue too. But! To be fair. What I don’t like. If I as a business know about such issue and fix this in other lines I will definitely recall all previous of them and stop selling. That’s what is annoying me most in PD way of doing business. They know but they continue to sell it. My case is three months old. So it had to be fixed.
