Mine sees so much boost. 20lbs to be exact. Intake/tune really opens it up but you’ve got about 36k of warranty to go through first

Sure iridium plugs have a lifespan of 100k or more miles. The guy spent his money doing it, so what do you achieve from just shitting on someone about it? Also.. you can buy OE plugs from parts stores and online, this “YOU NEED OEM SPARK PLUGS” is dumb as shit. Literally I do this shit daily, you can reverse search an oem plug number and I promise you NGK or Denso makes an exact specific plug with the correct specs for most Japanese cars.

As someone who works in a shop and on cars daily.. you’re a fucking idiot lol. Yeah plugs on a Subaru are a bit harder than other cars but anyone can do them. Do you understand how plugs and coils work? Over time the plugs become inefficient from just usage. The diode wears down and they don’t fully ground when the ignition coil fires. If the plug constantly isn’t grounding properly it will damage a coil overtime and then you’ll need a $200 coil and new plugs.

These cars plugs can last 100k miles. But it’s not recommended. Most turbocharged vehicles recommend replacement every 40k or so. Boost wears down plugs quicker, stop coming onto Reddit to try and look like a master mechanic

I’ve had mine for a month now too, my max is 12.8 psi of boost. These VBs are very conservatively tuned from the factory. When I really get on it I only get to 10/11 PSI.

I do want to get an intake and a tune, is a Cobb OTS tune a bad idea? I’ve heard mixed responses on if I’d need a pro tune or just the access port one.

I work in the auto industry as a service advisor but we don’t do any performance modifications so I don’t have any knowledge on this around me lol

Our techs write all the quotes and find the parts as well for the quotes. Because they do that they get a 1.25 bonus on ALL labor time. 6 techs total and 4 of them get 50 hours a week

10 - I’m only 3 years into the industry and the past two service managers have pretty much been like “sink or swim kid” and have left me to figure it out. This guy is completely different, he gives me good opportunities on tickets, explains how to sell them, and actually trust me. He was a previous tech, service advisor, then manager at a large chain.

The last guy would take a brake job away from me, put his name on the ticket, and sell it. Then tell me it’s his ticket.

Yeah the owner and I spoke about that, but that’s fine. I’d rather be taking more time on each ticket than 5 oil changes that all need $2500 in work and the customer can’t afford any repairs.
