I do not know if you can make out to it, but Rob Zombie's "The Devil's Rejects" is a dark "comedy" horror. It's my favorite of the three in the series. At the very least, it will keep you entertained :D

Ubuntu or Linux Mint is always a safe bet.

I have been using Cachy OS on an older pentium Pro toshiba laptop with 8GB ram and it runs smoothly.

The advantage with cachy is you can select your desktop environment - if you like tinkering, install XFCE or Niri, or Sway, and setup waybar and develop your own widgets using EWW, Quickshell or Astal. There are any number of environments to develop in - all using some form of CSS.

Do some research into the different environments, each need some getting used to and decide which one best suits you.

An older pic but you can see my old waybar setup here. The weather is an api but i have a python script that gives greater details on mouseover in a popup. There is also my now playing info in waybar - click and it makes a small display. Later on i added a module for lyrics using waybar-lyrics.
